do you mean a K&N Induction kit?
personally I prefer a drilled airbox with a BMC panel filter, lovely noise!!
why not try it and see which you prefer

I had a drilled airbox on my 20VT for a while.

I hated the sound, it sounded like there was a broken vacuum cleaner under the bonnet when on boost.

It didin't make any difference to performance either.

Yes did mean a K&N induction kit with cold air feed. Wheredo you drill the holes and what size might as well try it as off to the tip tommorow and was going to dump the original filter.

its all just preference at the end of the day, some people like the sound of the drilled airbox, some like having Mr Darf in the glove box. (although the DV does sound nicer with a cone)

The personally like the drilled airbox as when i just want a relaxing drive, I don't have to here any noise

Mine came with a drilled airbox so not heard a standard one without, but I like the sound. Call me a child. Local mechanic who did a few bits sent it to the MOT tester, who thought it was a hoot to drive. He said it's all quite normal, then there's this huge wooshing and off it goes! I think all in all it sounds great, can anyone comment on whther moving to a FMIC and cone filter make any difference to the sound? I assume with it being less restrictive it will just get better and better.
