... then I did something very stupid and opened the door!?

New bonnets been on the car for over two weeks, I'd checked all the gaps/clearances and everything was spot on.

Got to work today, opened the car door. Felt something twang. Unfortunately its caught a patch that had been previously repaired on the bonnet and made a right mess.

Don't know if the bonnet is worth fixing or if anyones got a nice Ink Black bonnet kicking around.

I wonder if the bonnet mounting bolts slackened off and it moved? Odd that it didn't do it before...

Ouch frown

It should be simple enough to repair just the corner of the bonnet if you dont mind a small area of blended in paint ?

I'd be checking the bonnet mounting bolts on the bonnet and the chassis to make sure it's all sat correctly, something is obviously loose.

Thats the only thing it can be. I'll go have a look at lunch.

The bonnet was in need of a respray anyway, just looks like it'll happen a bit sooner than I was expecting.

At least it's trying to eat itself rather than me, hey Jimbo? wink

Your not feeding it enough if it's eating itself !

Just been out to brim the car with petrol before it gets hungry again!

Weird thing is the bolts are all tight and haven't slipped from being fitted!?

If you do need a ink black bonnet, i think joe (countrycruising) is currently dismantling an ink black coupe or check on the parts for sale section?

I think the only explanation is that Joe sneaked round in the dead of night and moved my bonnet. He's got more ink black coops up at his than I've ever seen before!

(been up there at least once a week since getting the car going again, tempted to just start a direct debit)

This can easily be arranged James wink laugh

That's a right bummer about the bonnet and door frown

If it's catching like this the bonnet could be closing too far, have a look at the bottom corner by the door on both sides.
