I am toying with the idea of going for an Advanced Motorist membership but am wondering at the likely insurance discount. Does anyone have experience of a quote both before and after passing the test? Thanks.

i think it's only certain insurance companies that offer you discount to be honest

Direct Line knocked about £10 off.

Don't do it for the insurance discount - but do it!

One of the best ways of keeping insurance down is to not have any accidents - so anything that helps improve public driving skills should be commended.

I totally agree with Emjay.

IAM have recently relased their own insurance product (well clearly it's offered by a partner company, but you know what I mean) which is only available to IAM members. This is specifically addressed at the problem highlighted by BMCU. I've not got a quote from them yet, but will be interested to see what they can offer.
