I think I will. Fingers crossed I can't see myself needing £2K so desperately that I will have to sell my coupe to get it. I know that if I came to sell that resprayed, mechanically perfect, etc. etc. would barely make any difference to what it was worth. So, all things being equal, I will hang onto my coupe forever, even if eventually she just sits in a garage and comes out on sunny days in 2035. Anyone else willing to take the pledge???

Even if I won the lottery I think I would keep it - then you definitely don't need the money or garage space. OK, so that's 8 coupes safe. Remember, they may soon appear on the automotive endangered species list.

Ooh, two months older than mine, must be a showroom demo car. Might I ask what the last five digits of the number etched in the rear side window are?

Forever is a long time......however I'll do my best to keep my 16V going as long as possible. It's first registration was 10/8/95, so quite an old one. Basically in standard unmodified trim.

I was a long time Lancia Beta Coupe owner before moving to the Coupe ( same engine heritage ). The Lancia simply wasn't practical for daily use as reliability is not great and they're more fragile. The Beta is much worse than the Coupe for electrical gremlins - definitely the world champions! By comparison to the Beta the Coupe is a much more solid everyday car, way more reliable, more enjoyable to drive (IMHO), and spares are much, much easier to get!

And of course - there is so little rust in the Coupe compared to Betas. Interestingly I think that most Betas died due to corrosion, but had rugged Lampredi engines still going, whilst most Coupes probably die due to blown engines, but with good bodywork

cheers

Tony

How strange,
Today I made a mention to my son (24) of leaving my car to him and he said "I'll sell it and get something decent !". shocked
Oh the shame..I'm sure I brought him up right.
I had dragged him from bed, to do some joinery smash at my coffee house, so he may have been winding me up again. rolleyes
Still, he just talked himself out of a coupe.
So now it's between the three girls.
The latest is just 12 weeks old and when she is 21 the car will be 32 years old.
Should be a classic by then.
But I'm not planning on kicking the bucket just yet...There's a few more miles on me and the coupe yet.
And I have owned it for all it's 11 years. So it would be rude not to see it through.

I've owned a 16V,16VT,20V and a 20VT over the years. I keep coming back to them. I currently have a pretty much mint 1 previous owner 20VT-6 and am wondering if she will be a keeper.

I would seriously consider this but as each new kid arrives I get all sensible and sell a coop, and there is another kid on the way.

Storage is my biggest problem but I am certain that in 20 years I will be scouring the country looking for one of my ex coops which will then have another 10 owners on it and will cost more than it is worth now.

I can't see me getting rid of mine. I've gone green and ben cycling to work, so it's been SORN since April. But as much as it guzzles gas, it's just an amazing car, sorted how I want it. I love it!

Red, with recent new over spray, spotless tan leather interior, Zender Kit by Mariusz (fitting could be improved I guess), late model grill.

I only need to refurb the wheels, and keep it maintained.

I went to the Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset this week (go if you get the chance!) and there wasn't much in there I would swap it for. I really think its that good.

Money, will always be the decider.
