I'm battling with my demons, want to keep it, and that was my intention, but dammit, it's hard seeing it sat there not being used!
I'll keep it, even if it hurts.....

Dave, your lil boy will probably auction the yellow mystical beast off when he's all grown up How strange, Today I made a mention to my son (24) of leaving my car to him and he said "I'll sell it and get something decent !". Put a bodykit on it and he'll beg you to pass it on to him! Heck he might even buy it off you

I was planning on keeping my first coupe forever, till some idiot wrote it off for me! Now im not so sure as my current coupe isn't as pristine. Still think I'll keep it for a long time though, no plans on changing any time soon! -wolfman

Intend keeping mine, had it nearly 6yrs now. However if a mint late turbo caught my eye or if my dad sells his 147GTA a decision may have to be made. Our 20V VIS has become part of our family now though and is far too good to let go at todays low prices.

Not sure if the Coupé I own now is my forever Coupé I did have a plan to move to another Coupé, if one ever came for sale that was good eneugh. However in all my years here there was only ever one for sale, but it didn't push all the right buttons. I then bowed to pressure from my Mrs and decided to buy her a brand new Grande Punto. Within a week my all time WANTED Coupé turns up for sale The car looks fantastic and appears to be being sold by a really genuine fellow. Problem is I just don't have the cash to buy it I have been thinking about taking a loan but with the way work is at the moment I just can't take on the risk, and yes I have thought about buying it on the credit card GUTTED

Last 5 five of the VIN are 24946, IS mine the oldest on here Yours is just older than mine: Mine is 25404 registered on 24 August 1995. Mine is also a keeper.
16VT and X1/9 1500
We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Looks like there should be several coupes still breathing in 2 or 3 decades then. We could do an old meet where our (great?) grandkids drive us to Brighton in our prehistoric coupes and we and drink tea, queue for the toilet and compare false teeth and hearing aids. Anyone else up for it?
I went to the Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset this week (go if you get the chance!) and there wasn't much in there I would swap it for. I really think its that good.
Money, will always be the decider. I went there this month also and loved it. They defo need someone to donate a coupe though... infact that would be a good way to ensure one survives intact for future generations. Why don't we all club together at a tenner each and buy a decent 20VT to give them...

Anyone else up for it? Apart from the Grand kids bit this already sounds like most meets where PeteP, Barnacle and myself attend

I was planning on keeping it indefinitely, but the recent £1600 bill for bits and bobs has made me think twice. Am tempted to save for something more exotic if I'm going to spend that much.
Who knows.

I probably wont have mine forever. I might do, but I can see there being a point where it's not in use and I cant justify the space to keep it.
I dont necessarily plan to get rid of it, but it wont be a case of keeping it at all costs.

Never say never. I never intended to sell my last 911.. or my first... but recession and all that. Now I have a coupe (again, I had one back in 1997) I love it and frankly I do not miss owning a Porsche (not much anyway). I do not foresee selling, especially as I've just spent all afternoon with the Zymol (wax) and it looks as good as it goes. Yes, I love it!
...but then again, when money is not an issue..who knows?

But when you sell a 911, people give you lots of money... not the same Yes, BUT the depreciation hurts (as indeed did the maintenance). The Fiat costs less on both counts. The amazing thing with these cars being so cheap to buy, is that if you fancy a change you can just buy another and not worry about the depreciation, or change the colour, modify the mechanicals and interior, seats, wheels everything and have a 'new' coupe and it would still be miles cheaper than any other desirable car to buy. All IMHO.
