I am looking to replace my headunit and both these Alpine models interest me. The reason for upgrading my current HU is because I would like to play music files off a USB flashdrive.

Which of the above is better? I am using the standard speakers with a sub + amp.

I am also open to suggestions on other headunits. My budget is 250

I bought an Alpine recently but it had rear USB via a short cable. I much prefer this as I could tuck it away. My girlfriend has a headunit with USB port at the front, and it's easy to catch when going for the indicators (on her MX-5). Also, having it plugged in the front means it's more hassle when taking the front fascia off.

es I have the same opinion and would like a rear USB connection.

I'm pretty tempted with the Kenwood KDC-BT8044U now too. I can't decide.

Ended up going for the Kenwood in the end. USB, Parrot Bluetooth, large display and a decent price for the spec

Kenwood
