Evening all.

Firstly, I don’t post much so fingers crossed this is in the correct section!

During the months of the year when we have the worst weather I'm away from home, at university. I've got a tidy bit of private, secure parking outside my flat but no garage. In the three or so months I've owned the coop I've been brining it's condition up to scratch and will continue to do so until it's mint cloud9.

I've been contemplating getting a car cover that will protect her from the winter elements. Ideally the cover will be soft/fluffy inside as not to mark the paintwork whilst being breathable. I'd hate to get a build up of condensation.

Realistically the car would be covered for a maximum of a week at a time. It would need to be strong and durable as the parking space is fairly open to wind.

I've had a search and found a possible contender or two but I was hoping for first hand experience from fellow owners. Budget would ideally be less than £100.

Thanks in advance thumb

All the "soft" covers I've used certainly don't damage the paint work but do let through micro-particles of dust so after a week with the cover on don't expect to pull it off again and have the car as dazzlingly-shiny as when the cover went on!

P.S. on the cheap side, this one fits the Coupé like a glove.

Check one of those classic car mags - they feature things like this of all kinds in the ads section at the back. Covers for all cars and for all types of storage - from breathing to non-breathing with gauges to monitor moist and all that.

Good point. I never thought of that.

Is this a quality item? I've always thought the price you pay determines the quality of a product. If it's as good as the price then surely it's too good to be true?

It's OK - as you suggest you gets what you pays for! Probably the best of the "cheapies" though. I had mine for a few years and it was on my cars for quite a few months all told in that time. It's was pretty robust although with only two eyelets in the centre you could only tie it under the centre of the car so in strong winds either the front or back end blew off!

As Kayjey suggests perhaps looking in a classic car mag will offer better (and more expensive) versions. Not sure if you can get a breathable versions that don't allow residue through, and I wouldn't recommend non-breathable polyester types.

Has anyone used this comapny before?

Seems to be quite highly rated if the car manufacturers that use them is anything to go by.

There is a topic in the group buy section about car covers and one company was offering a good discount on a top of the range cover....i think all in it was £140.

Try these:

I know the bloke that runs the site smile

The covers are a good fit and good value, with no hassles.
