Could be done with FWD, just requires a weight saving of circa 300kg, approximately 600bhp, wrinkle tyres, prepped track, and a perfect launch.

i have driven the jun lemon when mick had it! complete crazy mental car! it was a daily driver at one point but the diffs make it a bit of a pig to drive slowly around.

there are quite a few cars now hit 10's even standard cars like the new gtr! people are chassing low 8's now!

i was very lucky to go in it and i have been i many cars like it. just a shame i could never afford to buy one myself lol.

i would sugest itwon't be to long untill johnS's or flea hit under 10's without a problem but getting under 10's in fwd is very hard. like i said to start with now adays 10's in a rwd or fwd car isn't anything new and there are plenty of road cars even in carrying full weight and hitting 10's

Under 10's??!!
As fast as these 2 Coupe's are I think both will back me up in saying they will never be sub 10sec cars.

Can I add -

CPL racing have a Civic Type R,

1000kg
820bhp
FWD
Quaife diff
Slicks

Achieved 10.1 sec @ Santapod..

This shows how hard it is, And this is a tuning company that probably wont be beaten on experience at launching.

http://www.cplracing.co.uk/index.php?id=27

Currently the fastest FWD car in Eurpoe..

I'm pretty sure the quickest FWD coupe is still Mavric's 2.4 with 500bhp on race fuel and hoosier slick front tyres. That managed 11.9......

Oi Si!!! I lay claim to the fastest FWD Coupe with an 11.94 @ 121mph... faster than Mavric by all of 0.02 I should note tongue Plus I did back to back 11 second runs, 11.98 first and then 11.94 wink

I know my Coupe won't be going into the 10s because I simply won't do what is required to achieve this. I am not a huge fan of the 1/4 mile so spending thousands converting my car to this end and making it a non road car is not on my agenda. Someone else like Westan may have a crack at this though smile

I would point out that 10.9 is a 10 second car so it doesn't require the same spec required for a 10.1!! Other FWD cars to similar to the Civic:

MG ZR - 10.2

VW Golf Mk1 - 10.6

Sorry.....I'll get my coat.....

Anyway - from what I can see you've hit the nail on the head. The gap to go from 11.9 to 10.9 is pretty big.

well it can be done as flea said but you would have to make your car full drag and my car is getting there but lets try and get that 11 second pass first it is so hard
