The clock is a common mounting area for a boost gauge but I found it too far away to be able to glance at.

I've got my boost gauge fitted into a Nomad pillar pod cool .

That's pretty sweet Baz! I've opeted for undoing the bolt by the pillar, then mounting the boost guage there with a slightly longer bolt. Mount is normal autometer mount to go with autometer gauge.

On my car the boost gauge was already fitted in place of the clock.
As personal taste i dont like it. However at the moment its functional so its staying.
On my old Coupe i had it mounted on the A pillar and i much prefered it as Baz said for glancing at, i.e. takes less time to glance at then down at the clock area.
As well ive found that i missed the clock being there.

now i know this went down like a lead ballon when posted a year ago , and the photo makes it look awkward.....
but...
Simple to fit and i ve never caught my feet or leg on it and i dont get dazzled by the afr gauge or boost gauge at night and a simple ocassional glance down serves its purpose ....

IMO having the gauge in the dash strip is the only option. On the A pillar, I find it creates a worse blind spot than is already there. And having the gauges down by the right leg would, for me, be an issue. You'd only have to look down at those gauges just at the wrong moment and miss a car/bike then *BANG*.

Some people have replaced the original anologue clock with a boost gauge - equally a good idea. As long as you wear a watch...

I find the clock too useful to replace since I don't wear a watch and pulling my phone out of my pocket and looking at that while on the motorway is positively dangerous. Soooo I fitted mine in the left hand vent.

The right hand vent is obscured by the steering wheel due to my seating position. The vent is still fully functioning as on / off but obviously it can't be aimed left and right!

IMHO the boost guage is perfect when mounted in a single A pillar pod and doesn't obscure the view too much, I had it there for years, but right at the start I had it in a holder stuck on the dash, not too bad really.

But now I have a twin A pillar pod and it obscures the road even more. Since I've got the wideband lambda gauge and aquamist DDS3 in the A pillar pods, I've had to relegate the boost gauge to sitting in a holder stuck upside down under the dash where Bosco has it (except his looks like it's stuck on the door?) Even though I have an Apexi AVC-R I still want my old boost gauge in the A pillar so I'll have to move the aquamist down below (and probably have to screw it down since the adhesive strip didn't appear strong enough frown )

Agree with all the above.

I originally put my boost gauge on top of the dash, where it meets the windscreen, right down into the corner, so it was out of the way, but still viewable.

After all circolo's reasons, I decided to put it in the dash strip and still think that's the best place for it.

I now have a different boost gauge, but this is how it looked when I first installed it:

I considered/tried all of the above locations but for me the most natural place was on the inner-side of the steering column...perfectly in line of sight and looks like it belongs there! thumb

I have it in clock position, looks great and factory. Was lucky to find a good gauge which had similar grafics to Fiats, only "non-factory" thing is the red needle.
I can't say I'm bothered with viewing it though? Despite the general consensus here.

I have it in the clock position too. it can be annoying setting up the boost anything past 1bar as its hard to see past that on my gauge because of the angle. But im only running 1bar so for me its ok. you just need a passeneger to to watch the boost when setting it up.

also my gauge has the smoked affect when the engine is off so you wouldnt even know its there

Haven't seen anyone elses gauge in the same place as mine yet so here it is , The lights on all my gauges are red when switched on so whoever fitted the boost gauge (before i got the car) made a good choice keeping everything the same colour, i followed suite with getting a CD/radio that has red lights aswell, looks great driving at night! driving

@cx105 why is your speedo in km/h? Surely it will fail an MOT or does it show MPH also?

I think a couple of people have it there and to be honest, the more I think about it, it makes sense and is much more visible than the clock position. Generally, all I ever see is sky reflecting off the plastic dome in front of it, but then it matters less now, because I should have an Apexi to do the same job! Think there's a how-to for mounting the gauge where the starter button goes in later models.

I think its one of the best locations, easy to glance at quickly, nothing restricts the view to it either, i think it looks almost factory aswell located there

Mines in place of the clock. Push-start button means I couldn't mount it into the dash like Laura and Rush.

It was stuck to the windscreen near the A-Pillar when I bought the car but IMO it looked really out of place. Now it seems a lot more factory where the clock is, and the cd/radio shows me the time.
