Last night - from the O2 Arena back to Chelmsford (41.6 miles) in a little over 30 mins (and that was going slowly along the A13 section). This car is a superb tourer - can sit at unprintable speeds all day laugh

For me, it was finally getting my hands on another porto blue one, about 6 weeks ago.. more than 10 years since i first bought a 20VT, same colour, same spec. When i got it home, i just stood and stared for a long time..

I said to my mates, why didnt you make me do this years ago,. i have wasted thousands on Golf GTis Audi TTs etc when i could have bought a mint 20VT years ago !!! I genuinely enjoy it more than any other car i have owned..

They laughed.....

I do a lot of long-haul flying (i do it for money...not fun!)...but my coop is always waiting for me at the airport, and it puts a smile on my face everytime i walk out to see it...the drive home is always "spirited" to reenergise myself!

Also...another time i always feel good about the coop is when i get out of my overly noisy/harsh 360 Modena (with Capristo Stage 3 + Larini decats) into the Coupe...its so much more comfy and relaxing...and feels surprisingly effortless in comparison!

just back from nottingham (c 30 miles) after having my wheels refurbed (lovely btw) and a guy in an aston martin something or other gave me the thumbs up in static traffic - then incredibly at lights near my house another aston martin pulls alongside and the stunning bird mouthed 'lovely car'. blew her a kiss too wink

When I was filling up the coop at Shell and a stunning Ferrari pulls up.

The guy comes back out onto the forecourt after paying, looks down at the pininfarina badge on the side of my car and gives me the nod.

nice

I been feeling pretty good about my coop lately, despite the recent damage. It's mainly down to the fact my daughters friends keep randomly saying how much they love my car.

And then last night when I went to pick her and her friend up they got in pleading with me to floor it past their mates - It took alot of pleading wink

Their male friends apparently, when I was pulling up, 'where all like woo cool car like innit, bet it well fast like' smile

Was the first time I've ever floored it with one of her friends in the back, who was screaming 'Oh my God', with my daughter laughing out, 'that's what I love about this car' laugh

I have been running around in an X300 Jag for the past 2 weeks as my Coop is still at the bodyshop. This has hurt my wallet greatly and made me realise how fuel efficient my 20VT actually is, if only by comparison!
The 6 cylinder noise is nice from the Jag but I am badly missing the sound of my turbo spooling up.
I NEED MY COOP BACK!

Sitting in traffic around Dartford today when three youths walked past staring at the Coupe. Obviously i wa a a bit worried, expected a mouthful but to my delight and surprise they all nodded and one said "nice car mate, respect". Made my afternoon anyway. Of course, they were quite right, it is an exceedingly good looking Coupe,

when it passed its M.O.T first time today love

- I did a 'pre' check underneath the car at the weekend - rear brake pads and handbrake function/cable condition especially ooo

As we know, when it comes to MOT time, rear brake efficiency can be a problem, so I cleaned and copper greased the pads and sprayed the handbrake cable brackets and ends with Wd40 and grease, now the handbrake holds better than ever.. shocked It could do with replacing as the rubber grommets are split, but the cables aren't worn and I'll try to remember to check the winter weather forecast and follow the Coupé code 'frost on..handbrake off!!'

I was also a bit dubious about one of the brake pipes that feeds the rear hub especially when the original metal circlip holding the pipe bracket to the radius arm broke away and crumbled into bran flake like rust crumbs in my hand frown

The only job needed however was a minor headlamp beam adjustment - probably thrown by frequent bonnet closing after all that oil checking.. wink

My one sailed through it's MOT on 4th November, tester said:

"You ought to look after that mate, that's a classic in the making and it's in great condition too!". (As I sat there hoping for the best but dreading the worst!)
