The track part of the deal is really coupes only, price does include one passenger in the coupe so your Mrs is fine.

For your mate, non Italian cars won't be allowed inside the circuit but SpaItalia do spectators tickets so he can get in whatever he drives. We will have to wait for their website to be updated early next year before we know for sure what they will be offering

If he is going with you in the coupe, no problem as there is bound to be someone travelling without a passenger to go into the circuit with.

He is only coming for the road trip!
I will drive the track on my own I think! Need the car to be as light as possible!!

Just going to need 2 rooms at the hotel!

Pete can we have absolute clarification that Spa will be enforcing a 90db noise limit please for race cars. If this is the case i can't see me making it as my car is 102db. I wouldn't want to come a very long way to have some officious person tell me i cannot get on track.

I don't know how the noise is measured Sparco, but in Zolder the noise limit is the same and there are some cars that practise on there that are a LOT louder than yours. The sound level is normally measured during drive-by on the straight by the way.

All I have is this part of article 5 on the contract.

The subtenant (that's the club) will take care to inform the participants in the session that..... he recognises to have been informed of current noise restriction applied on the circuit of Spa Francorchamps and that participating cars may not generated(sic) noise above 90Db.

It does not mention how it is tested or even if it is.

At the moment noise is a bit sensitive because of action by some locals and a subsequent court case.
I assume that if the limit were to be strictly enforced there could be no F1 racing there in 2010.

Guys as you can imagine it's a lot of expense and effort to get my car there and i do want to be there but it would not be nice having got there only to find out they are actually testing noise levels.

This is a dilema now, what to do? Anyone any ideas?

Cant you just stick an extra silencer in the system to be on the safe side?

Not really what i want to do after spending £££'s getting everything optimised for Time Attack at 105db. Spoke with George and we might have to buy/loan a bung and see what the noise is then. 90db is exceptionally low. I'll book my place and pay the deposit but i will have to wait until after my rebuild in Feb/March to see what levels we have. It's all extra expense on what is already a very expensive trip for me with no end result really.

I wonder if they will scrutineer the cars. On some trackdays, they scrutineer the car and check the sound level at 3/4 revs

I wont go..afraid to crash it (wussy ) ill make the pictures tho.

edit: petep: last year i wasnt allowed to get close in the pits to make pictures of cars coming up the straight end. Would it be possible to arrange this with the organisation? As member of the fccuk club? Would be great to have pics of everyones coupe at spa.

Martijn, it may be possible to take photos from by the garages on the pit straight when the coupes are setting off, but I very much doubt whether it will be possible to stand on the raised area right next to the race track. They certainly would not allow it last year.

It is a matter of safety, and the trackside marshalls' word is law. Speaking to the organisers will not achieve anything.

There are other ares on the track where you can stand at track level and close to the cars, the chicane before Rivage for example. It is a bit of a walk!

Good work again Pete now lets see how many coupes we can get? I did notice last year that there wasn't any Italian coupes there anyone know why?
