My dream is about to come true.. I have started sanding and polishing it.
Thanks to Easter, i could work all weekend long.

I will have to fit a new cap. The original one will look ugly.. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I know that there was a past group buy for some polished caps.

Anybody know where i could find one ??? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/love.gif" alt="" />

Its not a simple job Baby_Cash, you will need to remove the fuel inector rail to get access to the hose clips on the plenum, then remove the throttle, then all the water pipes and sensors from the underside of the plenum.

I would say its about 1.5hrs job to remove it if your good with the spanners and then it will take about 3 days to polish it up.
I used an dyno-file (compressed air powered belt file) to remove most of the heavy pitting then started to use the micro-mesh to get a good finish.

Not an easy job to do and Barbz at Torque Italia sells them already polished if you dont want to take it on yourself.

I've just started polishing my cam-cover <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />, that's a lie I started about 3 weeks ago <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />, and yesterday I splashed a little water on it and it stained <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> so I had to rub that off <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />.

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />What are you guys using to make them water resistant. Will I need to lacquer it or are there any good alloy wax's I can buy?

I use the auto-glym metal polish, that does a good job but it will still start to corrode if I dont clean it once a fortnight.

@Baby-Cash... i have a spare oil filler cap from that group buy, PM me an offer, if i like it its yours <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

@Jimbo... did you buy a spare plenum? if so, when you swap them over can get your old one off you, so i can polish that and swap the parts over?

@joel... i have polished 20v rocker and intake and a stainless cover for that black bit between the battery and engine (the resenance chamber i believe) if you are interested? they are off my old Bravo hgt 20v n/a

I had the jacket on my past Calibra V6. When i broke it, i got some items back (like the battery cover). So i put it on my coupe.
