In the driving seat!
|
I suddenly realised that I have had my current coupe for over 3 years! Today I had a small chip in the windscreen repaired, on the 21st I am booked in to Motormech for new Cambelt and waterpump and on Jan 11 the car is booked in for a full respray! Other than a service nothing much has been done whereas last year it had New exhaust manifold new aux belts new washer valves new mirror motor Not too bad really and I am still on the same tyres, discs and pads as when I bought it, but have only done about 20000kms. I still get the coupe smile everytime I drive it and long may it continue

I love mine too, I'm coming up for my first month with mine and I'm totally glad I decided to take the plunge and get one after wanting one since the first time I saw it at the Earls Court motorshow back in 1995. So far its not done anything really bad, its had a wheelbearing, due to a part misunderstand over it being fixed for the MOT which Nigel was very generous in helping to resolve. One of the heater dials randomly illuminates seperate to the others but I can live with that. Other than that I've treated it to some original mats, new mirror covers to smarten it up a bit and want a few cosmetic bumps repaired. It probably needs all over respray to make it mint, but that will take a back seat for now as the GF is hell bent on becoming Mrs H now I've got the Coupe! (some promise I must have made whilst feeling unwell or drunk) I love how it sounds, I love how it looks, I love how it drives, the only things that annoy me slightly - mirrors that are no use for seeing backwards and the steering is a tad light for my preference. Wouldn't change my love for it though!

Other things that are mildly iritating: What about that revesing light...... Is it on? That combined with small mirrors! My pet bugbear at the moment.

Yes, add the dire turning circle, reversing light and small mirrors.
Oh well, I just don't reverse parallel park anymore!

Strangely enough, I was just thinking of starting a thread on this very subject, so I'll join in here.
I use mine as a daily driver and just LOVE it, especially the performance and handling mods.
I enjoy the mid range torque flexibility and shove when on the motorway and when I put my foot down, genuine supercar pace.
On uneven surfaces , I just love the feedback feel through the steering. Every bit as good as the 911's I used to own, and that is high praise indeed!

I don't know if it's just with the colder weather or not but just now my Coop feels great . Out on the road she's pulling nice a smoothly and sounding great,I'm also feeling the benefits of the camber bolts on the steering now which is making it a dream to drive through the twisty roads up my way . Top tip with the ski hatch, drive with it lowered. The exhaust note is much clearer, and when your giving it some, the growl suddenly switches to a 'pure air whooshing' out the back noise LE#10 just had her MOT, a belly full of Mobil 1, and some refurbbed alloys ( ty Patch ) with Goodyears on the front that I've always meant to try
