And I believe H&R springs also lower by 40mm ?

I have the Bisltein/Novitec (same as Eibach?) combo and find the ride too harsh for my liking.

Are we saying the Eibach springs with standard shocks provides the lowered look but more comfortable ride?

Strange, under the Distance Selling Regulations, I believe you would be entitled to fit the springs and then if you didn't like them to remove and return for a full refund including postage.

Yup, they need to be unused as new for a return.

Zak, Novitec had their springs made by Eibach but if I remember correctly, they lowered the coupe a little more than the usual Eibach spring so that could explain why yours feel a little harsh ?

Jim, that would explain why is was expecting re;ative comfort!

How would the car handle with Standard shocks and Eibach springs? I'm not looking for go-cart road-holding anymore and want a degree of comfort with the lowered look.

It was ok Zak, I found it could ocasionally get a little bouncy but that was with dampers that were 55K miles old, new standard dampers and Eibachs might work really well together.
Just remember the Eibachs are uprated about 30% on a standard spring so they are always going to be a little harsher.

New standard shocks with eibach springs is the best combo for comfort and handling.

Its still not amazingly comfortable, but isthe best choice.

Yes I have OE Shocks with Eibachs - Yes its a harder ride but not too crashy. You will feel the stiffness though (matron!) But defo worth it for the looks......

Basically you are entitled to open packaging and "try out the goods" but you must take "reasonable care of them".

I had Pi's on my first 16vt and they were great I thought. Comfortable and affordable with a nice stance.

just bought a set of eibachs will it make a big difference if i buy new shocks ? as my coupe has only done 54k

I would wait until one needs replacing then get Bilsteins.....

Looks like original new shocks and Eibach springs will be my next combo to try!

ive just brought some Pi springs for a knats chuff over £100 inc vat and delivery

for that money i dont care if they ride suffers a bit

when you fit them let me know what they are like please just out of interest

Went Eibach myself. Rog fitting tomorrow with a brace. Am risking the old standard shocks as they don't feel too bad and I'm wondering if a previous owner already replaced them. Will report.

I had Pi springs with standard shocks and thought they were decent enough, unless you live near bad roads then i would avoid ie.. potholes and the like.

I now have KYB ultra sr's with cobra 40mm srings which are a vast improvment on PI spring, and the handling is superb have beaten both a type r and a wrx round the twistys on this set up however on KYB ultra's the back is quite hard.

They are almost as good as the Koni coilovers I had on my Mk4 Golf GTi

So I would reccomend them

Ok. Old set-up was 11 year old original shocks and springs and no strut brace.

New set-up is brand new OEM shocks, Eibach springs and an OMP brace.

First impressions:
The ride comfort is largely the same - possibly because my old suspension was knackered. Ordinary surfaces feel the same but it is harder (and more painful) if you fail to spot one of these new bloody potholes that have sprung up everywhere. Generally perfectly accceptable however.

The handling seems much better. The car corners flat with no bouncing, rolling, juddering or flexing as before. You have more confidence as you can feel what the tyres are doing more directly - the feedback gets through to the wheel whereas before it was distorted by other wayward things occurring. I need a dry road but already I can tell it is a great improvement.

That's the same experience I have with my Bistein shocks, Eibach front springs and Novitec rear springs.

I'm on the verge of changing cars now for something more comfortable.

I could go with stock springs and shocks but I know I won't be happy with the looks.

If only there was a 'best of both worlds' solution, but that's now how suspension works.

Standard shocks with the Eibachs is pretty good - probably more comfortable than you have now. Talking of wheels, the lower profile tyres won't be helping matters...

Just fitted some Fiat Recaros from Joe and the difference they make to the ride is astonishing. Seriously zak, don't sell the car or change the setup, get some recaro seats. Makes it feel like a modern car.
