Just had to be rescued in the coop and dragged up and icy hill by a Mitsu L200. Other cars were getting up without any worries, but I merrily sat there spinning the wheels in every gear at all revs......

at that point, you let your tyers down a bit, role back to the flat and try again

pffff You could have at least been rescued by a lancer delta

-Or- take the carpet mats out, place them under the front wheels, select 2nd gear and apply gentle throttle. Simples.

At what point do you get out and retrieve your mats?

Well, the logic is, once you get the car onto more stable ground, but then if you step out of the car and leave the engine running to retrieve the mats......we'd do you for "quitting a vehicle", result!
