I fitted a K&N 57i kit to our VIS today. Having fitted various induction kits to cars in the past, I have never really noticed any significant difference, but had the cash in paypal, and was only £48.20 delivered. ebay link

Previous induction kits I have fitted include K&N 57i, Generation II, Pipercross and Pipercross Viper. Most have made engine sound a touch sportier but have had little effect on performance. They do brighten up the engine bay and I thought the sound would compliment the Power Italia exhaust system.

The kit number is 57-0317 and before fitting I contacted K&N technical department to confirm it would be suitable for a VIS.

Here are the fitting instructions

Approx time to install was around 30 mins. It wasn't difficult.

Since fitting the car definitely "feels" faster and throttle response has definitely improved. (I did mean to use dynolicious on iphone and do a number of comparison tests before & after but forgot!) The VIS was fitted with a K&N panel filter.

The quality of the kit is excellent, the instructions are clear.

From reading various posts, I understand that on the Turbo models, induction kits can allegedly sound like "Dath Vader in your glove box", I am pleased to report this does not appear to be the case on the VIS.

My verdict, it seems to be a worthwhile purchase, adding a better engine note and apparent performance and I would recommend it. I would go so far as to say it has shown the best overall improvement of any induction kit I have ever fitted.

Update,

after two full days of driving with the K&N, I am pleased to report that the car definitely accelerates harder. I believe that the kit complements the exhaust system and that for a VIS owner looking for a smallish increase in power should seriously consider getting one.
