Yes. The Thatcham category 2 list
here shows "Code Transponder Immobiliser" as standard fit for Coupé 16v Jun 1995 on (doesn't specifically mention 20v).
At the time it was Thatcham category 2 approved and alarm upgrades were fitted as standard (at point of entry to UK by FIAT, AFAIK) to UK cars, eg: Scorpion 918U and Meta whatever-the-number-was. These "2-1" alarm upgrades (upgrading the factory fit CODE system category 2 to category 1) have long since been "deleted" from the appoved list (due to age, and being no longer in production) but if you read the list
here you will see that Scorpion 918U and Meta M99T (is that the right one?) "should be recognised as normal compliant systems if installed prior to the date of deletion shown unless otherwise indicated." For 918U this date is Oct 1998, and Meta M99T is Oct 98 also, so not sure about newer Coupe's?
Having just found that list, I will use it to persuade my insurance company that's it's still Cat 1 protected instead of Cat 2. Many years ago I used to fax the insurance company a copy of a FIAT leaflet for the 918U showing the Cat 1 approval.
