that I walked away from my coop in Motormech last week knowing that it might be the end. After nearly six years I am now officially an ex-coop owner. cry The walk of shame to New Street was made worse by the fact that I had gone there with the intention of fixing it so I had a pushchair, two car seats and whatever I could fit into a carrier bag to lug back home with me. rolleyes

The head gasket had gone and it needs too much work doing for me to warrant keeping it (smoky turbo also). I was going to be selling it in June anyway due to some personal reasons and Paul made me an offer the next day that was pretty much the value of the car minus the cost of repairs so it made no sense to keep it. Making sense is of course not the point with these cars though. laugh On top of that I need a family estate car before the summer as well to replace my trusty ZX estate which I sold last year as we need something a bit bigger for holidays.

On the plus side, Paul bought it from me so when it's fixed up someone will have a nice Moon Grey 6 speed to enjoy. That option sat better with me as at least I know that the car will get fixed properly as who knows what would have happened to it if I'd just traded it in.

So bye bye coop, I don't think that I've ever cared about an inanimate metal object as much as I have this one.

This weekend in entirely bizarre twist of fate I went to look at a sensible family car and found that the owner had a sprinty sat in the garage! Spent more time talking about coops than the car I was test driving and the owner may come on here soon. I couldn't not buy a car from another coop owner, please forgive the double negative. hippy

So welcome to the new WishyWagon.

I won't be leaving here though and I haven't ruled out a return to coopland in a couple of years either.

At least it's going to be fixed up and not broken up. You should be able to sleep tonight knowing this laugh

Don't see why not smile

Besides, it'll be easier to know who you are, as when you see a load of Coupes together, you can't remember who's Coupe is who's laugh

If we see a Saab, we'll be saying 'ah, that's Wishy, the one who used to have a Coupe' laugh

Perhaps we should get some "My other car used to be a coupe" stickers made up? laugh

Sorry to hear you've had to move on from the coupe, but I'm sure the Saab will manage to keep up on the runs over Hartside and Kirkstone passes. Well, unless Solas is leading and then we'll all be struggling! laugh

i had a 5 year brake between my 2.....always missed the first and promised myself I would get another......and now I have.
I have owned lots of "sports cars" but none of them brought a smile to my face like the coop does.
See you soon.
Paul

I've got the solution, we lend Solas my oil burner to drive and then we'll all keep up! He doesn't have a coop anymore either now though.

I remember a Cat and Fiddle meet where an ex owner came in a 300C so I suppose I won't feel too left out at meets with a Saab. laugh

And yes, very happy with knowing that my coop will be fixed up properly rather punted out into the trade half fixed or scrapped.

"My other car was a coop", I see I new sig coming up.
