Right.. To answer Duncan and for those wishing to upgrade stock lights.
Fitted the Hid's 2 nights ago as I wanted to give them a good testing before reviewing.
My original lights were just dim and did not illuminate to any strength much distance in front of the car. the lights were so poor that I found it dangerous flicking from my full main beam at cruising speed on B roads where the shock of suddenly going from good lights to such poor ones meant I immediately dived on the brakes particularly because other vehicles dip beam simply over powered my own and I just ended up being blinded.

Fitting the Hid's was straight forward. Removing the lights was 4x nuts for each light unclipping the wiring looms and unplugging them.
Having had a quick look at the guide on here in the How to's It was very straight forward and took about an hour, taking my time.

The lights, brilliant. I notice how they illuminate road signs hedge rows/pavements with perfect clarity 3x better than stock lights. Anything reflective is lit up from much much further. The light itself is very sharp and clear it picks out miniscule detail that would not have been illuminated before.
I am no longer dazzled by oncoming cars and because the cut off point is so sharp I have not been flashed.
Am very pleased. smile

Anyone? Would 6k bulbs cause any melting issues?

well, hids4u are now showing the 5000 option available (H1-Fiat Coupe bulbs)

5000 is close to the OEMS that new BMW/Audi use, this is almost pure white with no blue tinge

6000 is white but with a blue tinge, tinge being seen on reflective road signs and shop windows, light output on the road is white though.

8000 starting to get a very pale blue light onto the road

10,000 Pale blue light

6000 is what I went for, good white light output and still with that cool aftermarket look to them. As for them causing melting issues I don't really know, I wouldn't have thought so as they use less power than standard coupe bulbs .. 50W vs 35W HIDs

I've had 10,000k in mine before changing to 6000 and I wouldn' recommend going higher than 6000, too tiring on the eyes and not so good in the rain. I'd only consider 5000 or 6000
