want to improve handling on my coop and wondering whether there was a noticable difference between the Koni Sports Suspension Kit and the Eibach Spring Kits (3cm Lower) from alternative autos.

is this the best mod to do first for handling or is it strut brace and bushes?

what are you views on this?

I would say strut brace first. I've heard various coments about spring kits some good and some bad. Adding a strut brace always gets the thumbs up though. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I would start with the strut brace then if you want more upgrade the suspension.
If you change springs you HAVE to change the dampers also, the original or any other that was manufactured to work with the original springs will never work good enough with the lowered springs....
Do it together or not at all!
Cheers

there are some members on here who have good experiences
with uprated shocks (eg , Konis / Bilsteins ) matched
to standard Fiat springs.

whatever it is , strutbrace first.

cheers.

Uprated shocks work fine with origin as long as they are made to replace the originals, there are two types of replacement shocks:
1. The ones for the original springs, and 2. The ones for the lowered springs.
So when you want to change them you start with the choices that mach your springs and then you choose the brand you prefer. Most of the brands have both.
Many times the lower springs manufacturer recommends specific shocks that match his springs and supposedly they are the best combination.
Cheers
P.

before the strut brace i would do the basic maintenance stuff first ie, wishbones, topmounts, check wheel bearings, bushes, droplinks etc. ONLY then would i bother with anything else. such a MASSIVE difference changing all that worn out stuff first. mine felt like new sfter topmounts and wishbones. i have lowering springe, cobra, and std dampoers and it is fine, a good compromise but after 12k like this i wopuld like to change the dampers too

nice one.

i've now bought a suspension repair kit, track rod ends (both from alternative autos) and a set of powerflex polyurethane bushes.

any other parts you'd recommend changing?

also i think i may get a strut brace next month but have found difficulty getting for the 20vt. any ideas on a supplier for one?
