Hmm if it's stronger with a stronger spring I may well be up for getting one on mine!

I had a Evo6 for a while, worked ok I suppose but my Forge with green spring is much better.

why?

I run the weakest spring possible in my Forge DV

its a common mistake to assume that a stiffer spring makes the DV perform better

I didn't mean it was a stronger spring, as nigel says you don't need it, the boost holds it closed, you only need enough to close it under vac (ie idle) but even that is less important on a map sensed 16vt

the better bit is the the rubber diaphragm, in the bosch one seems to be prone to leaking and the BOV not operating as it should and leaking under boost, the evo one seems to be fibre re-enforced or similar in this area.

I saying this I soon swapped to an aftermarket tial one which is way better still, and about 10 times the price

for the guys who tried the evo BOV does it really hold boost better ? does it worth the 40 minutes installation???

thanks

Only if your current one is leaking.- and it should be a very quick install

I assume you know how they work inside? but if not basically the boost holds them closed along with the spring (which only needs to be very light) as it has boost pressure on both sides - one side is the intercooler plumbing, the other side (rear) is the diaphragm taking the boost off the intake manifold, when the throttle body slams closed at gear change the diaphragm "sees" vacumm as the motor trys to draw air, the diaphragm (and the boost) push the valve open and the air rushes through the intake and out of the pressurised system

Basically on an OE setup it either works or it doesn't, once you start getting bigger turbos and venting to atmosphere it is a different story (like drawing in unmetered air) but really in closed system, the bosch and the evo vavles are the same asssuming they are good condition, it cant really hold boost as you say any better or worse, the boost holds itself.

The only other advantage is the evo might be slightly bigger and hence vent more quickly but I would have to check and I havn't found it yet.

thanks saint yes i know how they work, however what i meant was the bosch starts leaking at what PSI? . cause i know as a fact that the evo plastic BOV will only leak after 17-18 PSI. so if i know more about the bosch then i will be able to make my mind.

leaking BOV means ( BAD) anything higher than 18 psi will be released by the BOV immediately and your turbo has to work out harder to keep up.

The OE Bosch DV doesn't start leaking at ANY boost pressure - it only leaks when its defective

Just fit a Forge DV006 - perfect for the Coupe
