They spent all morning jet blasting it but it still looked pretty slippy for the first few runs.

I don't think the track was that bad, damp at worst but it was so chugging cold that it took ages to dry

Lets be honest with the money they take on the day they really should either have some sort of cover or start to dry out the track from 7 not start drying it at 9! I was pretty pissed off to say the least.

Real shame for Nigel and Nick, must be gutted. frown

Good to see and catch up with some people, but didnt get to meet everyone. Maybe next time.

What was the quickest time and terminal speed in the end for a coop?
Shame 2 of the big boys above couldnt get a few runs in.....

But a good dayout.

P.s spoke to the guy with the white skyline with slicks on the rear, cant remember what time it got, but was bloody fast, showed me a power graph........915bhp! shocked

Glad to put some names to faces (finally)

I din't bother stripping out anything.

Bit annoyed at the queue and waiting for 3 hours to run.
Did a 13.5. The second one I messed up the launch and Couldn't be bothered to wait so just chilled for the rest of the day.

Bad luck for Nick & Nigel.

Give me a ring tomorrow. Its not going anywhere.

I did a 19.3 with a stuck clutch
a 14.3 with no excuses
a 14.7
and a 13.2
very dissapointed that in 8 hours i only got 4 runs.Didnt get used to the car at all.
But for its first 1/4 mile it held up well.

Basically the paddle sticks and doesnt allow it to release.
SO the pedal stuck to the floor for about 8 seconds then a loud bang then it returned.

Managed to wedge a tool kit under the pedal to stop the travel so much.Worked well.
First run was 14's with launch control.Got the 13 without it

I didn't arrive until 13:30 having been to my son's footy match first, then all they wanted to do was eat lunvh and I couldn't sign on until 14:30, joined the queue and first run was at 16:38, which was 14.25 at 103mph, then joined the back of the queue for a second run not long before they closed the queue. For some reason they only ran one lane and took twice as long to get through everyone, but I was very pleased with my second run, 13.98 at 106 cool But having arrived late and spent all afternoon in the queue I didn't get to chat to anyone other that Elder81 and SteveG. Kids had the camera most of the day, I'll see if there's any good pics. Saw TurboNick being pushed out when we arrived, then saw him on the AA flat bed on the way home.

So a good day for me, I was in two minds about running since the AVC-R is overboosting to 1.5 kg/cm2, but I did it anyway... laugh

Specky said he was going for a nine - well done - that car is staggering and its SO reliable

Personally, I reckon they over-glued the track - it was VERY grippy, especially for such a cold day. I was fully expecting wheelspin but didn't get it

Death of a Coupe gearbox frown

I felt sorry for paul in his lancia getting to pod early and not getting to run because he had to leave at 12.00. They litrally took the absolute piss all day with the track iv never seen it like that before! They took AGES drying a dry track in the sun untill 12.30 then a few cars broke slight delays nothing major untill that LOUD drag car got fibre glass all over the track for another long delay, then it got going again finally and they go and close one lane for no apparant reason! Still enjoyed the day! Some nice coupes loved the moony with the azevs and was gutted the 2 biggest power coupes didn't get off the lights! A scudaria F430 only ran a 13.0 so coupes can all be proud of there times!

yep was a good day nice to finally get to my first meet,

feel gutted for the two coupes, hope all goes well with them,

some stunning cars also, love the azevs on coops will definitely be looking for some in the near future.

unfortunatly the track did claim a few victims today, i do blame pod as the length of time that place has been going and they should know how to prep and dry the track properly,
they just couldnt seen to get it right today, however some great runs and good show hat off to the bikers that takes some balls!

would love to ride shotgun in that tigra that was stupid quick jjust bouncing off the line. and best burnouts!

Right the [cloud9] AA take the piss!!! I will be on the phone to their complaints department tomorrow as one flat bed picks me up at 6 then drops me off at services and I had to wait for another one to come. I got home about 9 proper S**t day for me.

That track was way too grippy!!! don’t think having yokohama A048's on a track like that helped! also i think its ridiculous that santa pod like to charge for a full days track service but only supply you with half the day and then half the track!

Daveg i put my thumbs up when you put your hazards on i was ready to race you with the AA truck lol also speaking to the AA guys and they do come into santa pod to pick up cars! (for future reference) so i could have stayed and watched but we thought the car had to be off their premises.

JBT for the record mines an early 5 speed box the supposedly stronger box didn’t seem to strong on that line though lol

That's really crap service from the AA - I called Green Flag at 3:00 and was picked up at 3:40 - driver took me the whole 100 miles home - was home for 5:30

well you two wern't the only ones with problems today.

after running last all morning sorting the kids out etc, we finally got to Santa Pod where we were confronted by the LONG LONG que.

We decided to grab a seat and wait for the racing to start.

Bloody Cold.

The day goes on, usual Santa Pod crap of shutting lanes and pointless closures. personally i was getting anoyed with the bikes going down the strip with such a long que of cars.

Anyway, after a few hours and it seemed all was going well(ish) i decided to go and sign on.
"we are not taking any more cars as the que is so long"
Fair play, could of just taken my money.
she said "come back later as it will be quieter with less cars racing"
so i did, but in this time, the strip had been closed yet again so the que was no smaller.
needless to say they wouldn't sign me on.

being cold and fed up and 4pm I decided wnough was enough and we headed back for the car.

We literally get 10 mins down the raod to the A45 and bang bang bang bang bang bang bang.

frown

I pull into a petrol station and USA diner, I have one look in the engine bay and decide to call the RAC.

RAC roadside fix solution shown below:

toe'd it home frown

likely cause, RAC man says it likely to be the cam followers broken!!!!

When I have the heart to look at it one night after work this week i will let you know.

Got home at 9pm! and not very happy grr
