Oil cap (good idea or bad idea) This is something I thought would look good, but now I'm not so sure. Good idea or bad idea? I was trying to recreate the petrol cap off an old MZ motobike that I had over 25 years ago. Not quite achieved the look of this, but then I guess this would have been cast somehow (wish I knew how). Might have been pre-berlin wall but the east germans made a pretty impressive petrol cap. Arguably the best thing on the bike by far...

I like it... Did you machine it from solid and then cnc mill the letters?

Also I quite like the styling of the plastic cap mmm. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm tending to think that too. Fullpint - sorry but no idea how they engraved it tbh. I had the cap previously and just got in engraved using the LE plaque as the artwork. But I'm very unconvinced this wasn't just an expensive lesson (£30) that this isn't really an improvement on the black plastic.

That looks great...I've been trying over the years to get an alloy cap like that without luck...let me know if you decide to go back to plastic!

Slightly off topic, but anyone know where to get the polished steel oil caps? On an on topic way, wouldn't it be easier to get one of them and put a design on that?

Thats the thing mine is a Plus.
What could we have scripted for that?
Maybe just:
'Fiat Coupe'
'20VT Plus'
OR
'Fiat Coupe'
'20 Valve Turbo'
'Plus'
Now in the 400+ bhp club!

You'll need asbestos gloves to take it off after the engine has been running - I'll stick with my plastic one!
