Nope. If there was some serious incident e.g. hit and run we would be forced to open the section for investigation.

We do NOT want to be involved. Having a closed section would only lead to suspicion.

On here, we have no problem with people saying how they love the car and its performance - period - and by all means share your stories with your offline friends, but there is no reason whatsoever to post them on here. We all know perfectly well what base and tuned Coupe's are capable of. And a hint: we KNOW that this and many other forums are monitored for 'stories' and that people HAVE been convicted based on that. There are even detailed stories about it to be found online. Again, WE as moderators do NOT want to be involved or be blamed for encouraging such behaviour.

Not a very good argument I'm afraid, more just excuses. Why do some other mature forums have no problems whatsoever controlling it?

As I said I thought this was a performance car forum, I'm clearly very wrong..

To put it into perspective it's like having a stamp collecting forum, along as you don't talk about collecting stamps, just incase they're stolen...

I will still occasionally use this forum, but your post has made me even more certain not to bother becoming a member..

This is not 'other mature forums' - but if you feel this strongly about it, you have the same option as everyone else to become a member and then propose and vote for a change in the rules at the AGM.

The forum and the owner's club neither encourage nor endorse illegal behaviour; racing on the public highway is an offence. If you choose to do so, that's your choice - but you will not be allowed to discuss it on this forum.

I'll adhere to the rules, but that doesn't mean I don't think you guys are incredibly blinkered. I am far from any type of boy racer, but it would be nice to hear sensible, maturely written real world comparisons.

For the moderators here, I believe KIA are doing cracking deals on city cars at the moment, I think that type of car befits you.....

And we have that section under the Track Days and RWYB section, it really is that easy, you drive to a track, compete against another car come back and tell everyone..

As for being mature and sensible, its nice that you decided to end your post in a swipe at the mods, very mature and sensible smile

I am interested to hear how you can have a 'sensible, maturely written real world comparison'?

"we drove through the 30mph speed camera side by side. The road continued at 30mph untill a 40mph zone further up before turning into an NSL dual carriageway.

We remained side by side upto the 40mph sign when we both floored it upto 40mph, it was close but i was now a couple of inches further ahead. As we entered the NSL section, we floored it again, with both cars making progress to 70mph quickly...

My coop was now half a car length infront!!!!!woohoo WINNER!!!"

Something like that?

With all due respect Davie you really dont have a clue what goes on behind closed doors your ignorance is clearly displayed in your constant digs to the mods. Your clearly delusional if you believe that bringing that section back wont result in people talking about street racing.

If you want to write a comparison about two cars you can in coupe related chat as long as its not refering to racing. No one is saying you cant make posts like that.

Join the club, attend the agm, and voice your views there in an open forum with real people. What you fail to remember is this is not a dictatorship and the board listen to its members requests at the agm and time leading up to the agm (all points are brought up even if people cant attend). Your rants are wasted here and ruining this thread. . . there is a time and place for this conversation and this is not it. As far as im concerned this matter is closed and if a member would like to air their concern then it will be welcomed in september and happliy reviewed then.

The reference to the Coupe VS section i can say for most of us was a joke, laugh
Today technology has advanced so usually i get a text message to say what car has been minced by a coupe.

Davie, in fact yesterday I did that thing: being stuck in traffic doing around 70 behind a Rucksack Panamera we floored it up to around 125. I can genuinely say the Panamera is quite a bit faster than my 270 or thereabouts Coupe.

Note the 70 and 125. It's km. On the counter. So probably 120 in real life, which was the speed limit. The 70 was because some idiot trucker three cars ahead swerved across lanes, probably falling asleep or hanging up a poster on his wall.

You are not doing yourself any favours insulting moderators as well as regular members / visitors. As for the short extract that made any sense "I am far from any type of boy racer" - I'm sure you are not a boy racer, I'm sure like many of us you are sometimes opening it all up for a bit of a spin at slightly higher speeds as what the signs at the side of the road are telling you.

Again, seemingly you don't understand what has happened on other forums. We actively encourage exploring your and the car's limits. On a track or an otherwise private area where this is allowed and possible. Out on the street, it's you're decision and we don't want to know about your exploits.

1/
Decisions are made for a reason and more often than not amongst admins / mods there is almost 100% agreement.

2/
We DID instate a Coupe VS section. And then we pulled it because it was a BIG source of fights on the Forum (I don't believe you) and because the section turned into a boyracer section. Unfortunately this also has an effect on people like yourself who would do things in a more responsible way. If you want to pick someone to blame, then pick the boyracers who posted in there.

... and do I see the April Blues again? Every year in April there seem to be people starting to shout at us.
