Almost 3 months without a single one of you being spotted? Luckily for you all, I spotted a (lowered???) Porto (P*** HET) burbling up Glossop road then turned left down Clarke house road in Sheffield at about 4.45, just 200 yards after seeing another Porto I have mentioned previously parked up in a University office car park. Alas, these two Porto Coops are one and the same. It was my wife driving and she works at the Uni.

She must have left work just seconds after I walked past and got let straight out of the carpark. I was going to stick a FCCUK card under the wiper blade next time I saw it too.

Porto now back Not seen the Porto since.... Don't you trust me? Inky going down City Road around 2pm today. Assuming its the same one, I saw it the other week around the same time. Anyone here? Ha! Wife's car now fixed, so Porto not at Sheff Uni waiting for cards being placed under windscreen wipers.

Law of averages says we will meet one day, X19_pilot. Thats if I ever get mine going again, she passed her MOT on Thursday, then burst an oil cooler pipe Friday! Oh, and she has a puncture too, so on the space saver ATM! - Still, I now have an excuse to get me some Toyo's! Sorry to hear of your woes. Mine passed the MOT last Thursday needing little money. Got it home and the bonnet cable has snapped . Trying to source another. Which bit of our fair city do you live?

Well done on the MOT, every cloud and all that though.... I am sure these cars exist to test our patience and wallets! I am near crosspool, but the car is currently in Leicester still, found me an oil cooler and pipes today! Steve at AA is about our nearest parts specialist, he might be worth a visit/ring? And you?

Millhouses. Cheers. I was gonna call Steve today, but I am tempted by the bike brake cable option...saves a bit of cash etc Which Garage do you use? We don't have any "specialists" in Sheffield...although there are a couple of Alfa/Fiat garages in North Derbys.

I went with the bike cable option when I had the X19, it was a tricky so and so to fit as I broke the weld at the frayed end and cut my fingers to ribbons. Once fitted though it was fine, arguably a more durable solution too. My old man got me my last bike cable from somewhere near Darnal I think, I will ask him tomorrow. I am always passing your neck of the woods so keep an eye out for me when I get mine back in the next week or so! I do a lot of work myself but if I get stuck - Cambelts, clutch etc - and a fair bit more this time, I use JonnyBravoTurbo, great bloke, knows the cars inside out and competitively priced, if not all that local. I have also used Classic Automotive at Dronfield for the Cinq and X19 and wouldn't have a problem sending the Coop there, he looks after a few Porsche's, Morgan's and Ferrari's so he shouldn't have too much trouble with a Coop, although he isn't a "specialist" but a very good motor engineer. Peak Alfa are about the closest specialist I think, out at Hope, but I haven't used them yet. Do you know of any other local ones?

I had a flyer for a place near Mansfield put under my windscreen wiper ( must be catching, hehe) at Rother Valley. I will dig it out. Thats useful to know about the guy in Dronfield. I heard Peak Alfa were a bit pricey?...they had a 145 for sale for ages at £2995!! A bit steep. You actually own an X19 aswell...wow!

You actually own an X19 aswell...wow! Rats! My Dad has just left mine and I forgot to ask him about the bike cable! I will PM you tomorrow if I think on! Sadly the old Italian tin worm got the better of the Exxy, I would have another tomorrow, great little car! Still got a lot of desirable parts for them if you know another owner? Couldn't afford the upkeep of an X19 AND a Coop! Completely different car but I still miss her! A couple (X19's) were spotted at Hope show last night, anyone go? Let me know if you find that flyer. I'd be up for organising an SY meet one evening when I am mobile again.... anyone??? OT I know, but just been out for a meal for the old mans birthday at Maranello's on Eccy Road, I think the owner is a Ferrari fan, decent food with a bit of Ferrari memorabilia to look at. Not seen a Coop for a few days, Where are you all hiding? Broken like mine???

I found the flyer. The garage is called AFH1. It says they are Alfa Romeo/Fiat and...er..Hyundai specialists. Oh, and apparently they are Mansfields number 1 specialists, too..01623 657377. Keep seeing the odd x19 on carandclassic.co.uk. Reasonably priced aswell. Nice

FGS open your eyes SY, the AGM is heading our way in 3 weeks! At least pretend we have coops around Sheffield/Rotherham/Doncaster seriously though... Inky with nappa interior near Donald and Aitchison (spelling???) just off London road, near Dunelm/Halfrauds around 3.45. nice looking car!
