How does running a decat affect MOT and insurance?
No MOT pass with decat therefore no MOT when using on road.Does this invalidate your insurance?

I dont know what the insurance companies will do but no court would ever rule that removing the cat could cause an acident or contribute to a claim.

It is illegal to drive a car without a current MOT unless taking it to or from a prebooked MOT appointment.

Therefore I would imagine the insurers could refuse to pay out any claim on the basis that the car does not comply with construction and use requirements.

Certainly they insist that the car be kept in a roadworthy condition.

Thanks petep, I think it could be a way for an insurer to refuse to pay out on a technicality, especially with the new MOT regs coming in from April
