Recently got Deme's 16VT on the dyno. Completely stock engine internals. Just a decat and K&N filter - oh, and a bit of Voodoo magic : Stock T3 turbo and upgraded to "Voodoo spec". hybrid, designed to meet Deme's request of a reasonably priced turbo capable of 300 bhp, plus scope for more in the future: Escort Cosworth "big turbo" T34 compressor and comp. housing Garrett "stage. 3" turbine brand new .48 a/r hot-side machined to fit turbine 360 deg thrust bearing, bolted staggered-gap oil seal 1 bar actuator Stock 16VT turbo elbow thrown in the bin where it belongs and downpipe modded with 2.5" stainless elbow. All built and live-mapped by yours truly! I've built several turbos and exhaust systems for my self but this was the first time I'd built items for another person, so I was probably twice as nervous as Deme as his car was strapped down on to the rollers! Anyway, the results: An interesting side-note: The wheel horsepower figure isn't shown on the printout, but it was about 282 bhp ATW - just 10 bhp coast-down losses, as opposed to 20 or 30-odd bhp you usually see on various dynos. So it made about 10-20 bhp more at the wheels than other comparable 16VTs that I could find and 4 bhp more than, er, my own Coupe when running my old T3/T04e 44-trim

Cheers, peeps. And no worries about questions.
Nick: peak boost is 1.35 bar. That's right, brand new housing machined for stage 3 turbine. I think more boost would make 300bhp - Or possibly better still, adjusting cam timing to make peak power at higher revs.
I have a hunch that it may be possible to time the stock Coupe cams to make peak power at higher rpm, yet still produce good torque. I have a set of adjustable cam pulleys in development at the moment, which I'm testing on my own Coupe. My cams aren't stock though, so I need to test my theory on a Coupe with stock cams. ------------------------------------------------- Saint: That's right it was just because peak power was around 5400. The redline is 6800 rpm.
Revs are correct. Power and torque only cross at 5250 when the scales are on the same scale (and in bhp and lbsft) Power and torque scales are different here.
Peak boost is 1.35 bar at around 5400. Boost at peak torque is about 1.2 bar. On the road the car starts pulling hard about 3800-4000 rpm. -------------------------------------------------------- Scuderia: Yep, S-trim. 48.8mm in./69mm ex., 50-trim

Hi guys. Yep moved to London! But I still go out that direction (well to Newbury at least) to dyno cars. Rush: The 16VT and the 20VT are doing fine at the moment. How's you and the Coupe? Tom: Hows the 16VT doing after our latest map? Have you got out on any more track days yet?
