Hi all, hoping for a quick favour - need to get the beast fired up and ready for tidy up for summer and back on the road... However Ive laid her off for over 6 months now. Last thing i want to do is fire her straight up - I have no idea how to prime her and i admit to being mechanically retarded So if anyone is around the West Midlands or passing near to Kenilworth i would really appreciate a hand - happy to bribe with a crate of beer PM or reply here - it would be great Thanks

Most cars will start fine after a lay up.
But... you could put a fuel stabiliser in the tank and leave a short while to sort out stale fuel.
You could also make sure the battery is well charged first.
And remove coil/spark plug connections and let the engine crank a few times to prime/circulate oil and make sure fuel pump primes.
Other than that.... if it starts it starts.... if it doesn't it's shagged and start figuring out why.

Make sure the alternator is not seized through inactivity, if it is, you risk shredding your aux belt...
Another way to just crank over without starting is to undo the connector on the cam/phase sensor (ie: just 1 clip instead of 5 on the injectors)
