"nine times out of ten when you lift the bonnet on this type of car, you are usually greeted with a sea of blue Samco hoses, which also usually indicate that all sorts of other "go faster" regalia had been bolted-on too"

Nismo? lol!

Another inky in my town??
Think I saw this last year, smoking and dented with no back box. Someone's been busy without driving it about much!

lol , that's me but what a load of bull about -

Invariably most of these little pocket rockets sadly fell into the hands of the "Max Power" brigade, and nine times out of ten when you lift the bonnet on this type of car, you are usually greeted with a sea of blue Samco hoses, which also usually indicate that all sorts of other "go faster" regalia had been bolted-on too, sadly at the cost of reliability

does he know what he talking about !!!!

that's why mine is still on its original engine laugh

Seems he thinks an unmolested one is better than one that's been "played with" but I don't agree with that.

If it's been done properly by reputable garages, well maintained and properly serviced it'll be fine.

my car was built by my own hands so I know that its been done properly and any problems can be fixed by me aswell as maintaining it too but it always goes to power italia for its service and mot .

In general terms he's quite right I feel. I think that the few on here are a minority that fit parts during a proper upgrade. But lets face it there are any number of Coupés out there running around with random parts taped on.

If I was in the market for one I'd not look twice at one with bling on it as I couldn't be sure it wasn't raced.

I see your point , when I went to look at coupes to buy I bought one that hadn't been touched and was totally standard but did look at a few with a few mods done but it wouldn't stop me buying a heaverly moded coupe .

It would me as I couldn't be sure the work was to my standard. And as I'm sure you've noticed, I have a dislike for a fair few of the 'improvements' on offer. If the price was right I'd consider one, but with a view to redoing the work.

But that's just me.

I bought mine with Stage 3 hybrid setup knowing it had most of the work completed by Barbz and only within 6 months and checked it over with a fine-tooth comb with super low mileage it's spot on IMO.

You never really know how a car has been looked after, you could have a 'max powered' coupe that has been lovingly serviced with no expense spared or a bog standard 'un molested' one that has been completely neglected. Never judge a book by it's cover, or a coupe by it's hoses laugh

Muzzie, I'm half contemplating taking a look at this and letting the wife have my vis. Do you think this looks a bit of a knacker, if it's the one you've seen?
