Hi im after some advice from anybody that deals with or knows about car painting!

I wish to get my bonnet, Boot lid, front bumper and skirts painted due to the laquer peel

My body work is currently ok but i am sure it will want doing in a year or two

My main querie is..

Is it ok to get these bits painted and then do a full body respray in a year or two with no issue's with matching paintwork, or is the only real sure way, to get it all done at the same time to avoid paint matching issue.
Is it likely to cost almost as much doing a part job as to doing the whole thing.
Any advise would be appreciated and if anybody has an idea of price for this i would appreciate a rough idea!
When i do the body I would only really be interested in a full windows out and panels stripped out type job!

Cheers Rich

I had my bonnet front bumper and roof resprayed with no issues in colour match. I guess it depends on the condition of your current paintwork, for example speed red can fade to pink!

Thanks guys does Scotts green fade?

The only reason i ask is because the boot looks a slightly different shade to the body but not sure if its the laquer going cloudy or a poor match!

I know my car has seen some paint before, the guy i brought it from said it was once keyed and resprayed but im unsure of how much was resprayed

Cheers

I've recently sprayed my Scotty. Colour match was defiantly off.
I sprayed everything apart from bonnet and front bumper as the paint was sound but the rest of the car had lacquer peel or was damaged.

I got my paint from a place which is well known by me and watched it being mixed. Everything was weighed out correctly and the right quantities used, however, the original has more gold in it compared with the new.

If i were you hold on until you can get the whole car done in one go cuz unlike me I've gotta now prep my bonnet and bumper and wait for the weather to warm up before i spray it.

Hi thanks for all the advice, I'm thinking of having a go myself I have spare parts so if I f**k it up it will only cost me the paint and my time
But I have another question regarding paint code so I'm going to start another thread as to not get confusing info due to the title
Obviously any advice is appreciated
Cheers

I did mine myself and too be fair i was surprised with my skill. :-)

Id never sprayed before but i had the equipment to do it. My compressor and spray gun was from aldi and worked well.

All my paint, laquer, thinners, cleaning stuff, primer and prep stuff came to around £150 so to say a complete paint job is anywhere from £800 upwards I've saved some considerable loot.
