If the 16vt has everything else in place to support 550-600 bhp I'm sure it is a great turbo!! Think the the gtx 3071r would be a better "fast road" turbo though that can still crack 500bhp.

You should speak with Leighton (Flea) - he had a 3076 for a while and didn't like the lag. It was quick (just over 500bhp IIRC) but the power band was too narrow for a road car

I'm running a 3071 with a 0.64ar turbine housing - its on the limit of lag for my tastes, but it's still good for nearly 500bhp. It starts to spool at just under 3k rpm an delivers full boost by about 3600. (still giving full boost at the redline of 7600)

Whereas I like the 3076, get 0.5bar by 2500rpm, 1bar by 3000rpm and full boost by 4000rpm, but I reckon it would be sooner if Leighton hadn't mapped it for a more progressive rate of delivery smile

Don't know if the stock idle valve has enough bypass duty but a bit of mild antil lag on a calibration switch as a function of gear position should do the trick and not cause any issues if its setup properly.
