sorry- I can't find this as having been discussed before

I see a gap at the end of the centre console, under the rear oddments tray, in front of the rear seat bench. This ISN'T a heater/cabin ventilator output is it?

Is there any cabin heater ventilator output to the rear of the car at all? I don't see ducts under the seats unless I'm not looking hard enough..

Are you talking about the legendary invisible rear ashtray in which is to be found the quill of a dodo?

No - no air vents into the rear half of the cabin

hmm-

I'm just looking into it; it's between that and another function for the same space...

it would have to involve chopping up the rear of the centre console 'face level' vents from behind to duct down from there...

hmm...

Oooof, wouldn't that be in danger of weakening the air flow to the front?

'perhaps'

I'd be looking at an aux fan slaved off the main (a very small fan with an 'immeasureable' additional current drain) to push the air along the duct to the rear.

I wouldn't really be using any 'blow' from the main fan- just some of the intake air...

it's just a concept- I've got enough going on anyway; mabey one to think about slowly...

Mmm, a fan with no current drain. Isn't that called a turbo? You might even get some hot air out of it if you bypassed the intercooler. Ah, but you have a NA like me.

Simple to do. You need to raid the Fiat parts bin. The Fiat Marea Weekend came with ducting for rear heating. You could also get yourself a centre arm rest at the same time.

well I wouldn't want anything that was obviously different- as lovely as an armrest might be- in fact forget it-

My folks had a Marea (as did I once) the Weekend in fact, and the armrest was round on one side- no I don't think I'll be doing that...

thanks for that Barnacle- I used to tell people about stuff like that as a joke- and now it exists!!

It might exist, but it's still a joke...

What?! I've just ordered. What with it's 20000rpm worth of airflow and its super high pressure 2-3psi output, how can I not make a ton of extra power and in no way choke my engine?

Barnacle you've done it again, the amount of hot air in that add would certainly be enough for the rear of a coupe!

I can't access this link from my phone in a playpark in Dalkeith, but at the risk of going off-topic, to actually be back-on-topic!:
I'd like to say that a cursory sizing up of the removed rear ashtray complete arrangement appears to be right on a single vent & thumb wheel size in the front...

Hmm- can I really face this project....??!

This might be a longtermer: I might get another double dashvent off eBay and have a think about ducting.

Or "mabey" I should think about the lower vents...? That might be a lot easier...

Next you will be telling us that Amtech restore doesn't rebuild engines by adding it to the oil.i know that works because Quentin Wilson says so.
