I've managed to get one these new fangled strut brace things after 13 years of owning my Coupe. Question is, once fitted at either end, how tight does it need to be tightened up on the adjuster?

All advice gratefully received smile

It doesn't want to be tight!

You shouldn't be putting any extra load on the bolt at either end, adjust it so the holes in the strut brace lign up with the holes in the suspension tower and then bolt it down at that.

My top and lower braces are both tight and haven't done any damage to the bolts over the last 3 years but when I say tight not over tight but locked so there isn't any movement .

The Coupe shell is weak enough already without flexing it some more

I found that you could get about 0.25 degrees of extra camber by winding he adjuster VERY hard, but the main purpose of the brace is to reduce changes in camber through flexing of the suspension turrets under load

The purpose of the adjuster is to make sure the mounting holes can line up properly, not to pre-load the brace
