Hi everybody, Very new to the forum and about to collect my Coupe really soon (cant wait). Just have a quick question, did the Coupe ever come with a central armrest? If not has anyone attempted to install one? if so which one and from where? I've seen this one on eBay eBay - Armrest Many thanks, ST

There was never a factory fitted armrest, this is a BMW armrest.
I used to fit these occasionally to BMWs and found them very annoying, they get in the way of the handbrake and make the cabin feel cramped. I do have long arms.

I dont get armrests - on any car, they just get in the way of my elbow when shifting on a manual, and get in the way for some reason with autos too.
The first thing I do on getting in a BMW is move the damn thing out of the way!

It fits snugly, but looks good, see below... Happy bidding

I think cowboy was one of the first to fit an arm rest to a Coupe, wasn't expensive and I don't think it was a BMW one either. You're right T but I thought it looked good and stock. Wish I'd done the same now. They are a "marmite" mod but Karl retrimmed his to match his tan interior. He bought it off eBay and if memory serves, it was German eBay and worked out @ £25?

Thanks for the info guys.
Sounds silly but I'm so used to driving with one in the car now, do miss it!

Hi
Which BMW armrest was it? Personally I do think it is missing one for long journeys, most of which is the same gear. I also noticed you'd shorted your gear stick, is that something easy to do as I'm very new to car DIY.
Thanks
