Ok to be in the mile high club your must have done over a 100k, just thought it would be fun to see how many miles you can get out of one of these on the original engine for both 16v &20V turbos and non turbos all welcome

My original VIS n/a engine was running very strong at 130k before a burst radiator caused a head gasket problem. I could of rebuilt it but opted for a very young 38k replacement.

There are a good few high mileage coops on here, they will last if you look after them. My own has 143.7K and was compression tested with 150psi on all 5 cyl.

Cool, I've joined the mile high club then Although truth be told I'd rather have sex on a plane. 112K, although that hasn't changed for a year. The first owner did 60K motorway mileage, hence the high(ish) mileage, then again she is 10 years old so I guess it's actually averaged out now. Oh, I'm on the original engine and Turbo Although it now smokes like Brewster on a night out.
Coopless!

dave Just has a Forge 006 dump valve and an induction kit, the rest is standard. As far as I know, it was standard until I bought it. Also, as far as I know it's still on the original engine and turbo, etc. I bought it with no history, only one key, etc., so don't know much about the car's previous life. It's in a good home now though

I think i have the record for the shortest engine and the most engines in the car mileage. 3 engines in 76k and lowest one only done 7-8k before it was dead! Ross

im sure somoen had bettered that, was a lad on the old forum who was on his 5th or 6th engine.have heard of coupe engines blowing in less than 1000miles. must admit i wouldnt put up with that many broken engines,i would burn mine out and claim on insurence rather than fork out for another engine
