The red dot fast road pads need about 1mm grinding off the top and bottom of them to make them fit easily. It sounds like yours were not filed down enough and are sticking causing too much heat buildup. Whip them out and grind them down a bit more or you will get a "warped" disc. Also clear out all the dust and corrosion under the pad guides.

Grind the metal lip on top and bottom, not the pad material. Line it up with the old pad, you will see the metal part is a couple of mms higher. Dont worry about warping the discs, Nigels "unwarping" method worked a treat on my old discs!

Nigel did a more detailed description, I'm sure it is in one of the FAQs or How To guides somewhere

Nigel says:
---
Almost right Stan - this has been proven many times over with Coupes, especially 20VTs
When you come to a standstill with hot brakes, AND you keep your foot on the brake pedal, the pad transfers pad material into the granular stucture of the disc surface. This isn't normally a problem if its done evenly (in fact its desirable - its part of the bedding in process)
However, at a standstill, you end up with a higher concentration of pad material on one part of the disc.
The warped sensation that you can then get isn't actually a physical warp, its simply one section of the disc with a higher friction coefficient than the rest - when braking (especially when braking gently) you get an on/off/on/off sensation, which your brain says must be caused by physical defoomation of the disc itself.
The cure is simple - find an empty, dry (private ;\) ) section of road and then do the following:
1) brake moderately hard from 80mph-ish to 10mph - leave for a few hundred yards to cool. 2) repeat 1) four more times. 3) Making absolutely sure your private road is still very empty, get to about 100mph - 110mph and brake hard down to 10mph, but not hard enough to get the ABS to cut in. 4) now repeat 1) - 3) again, making sure you allow a few hundred yards cooling time between each application. 5) now drive gently for a few miles to let everything cool down before stopping
NOTE - NEVER come to a complete stop at the end of any of the braking sessions, otherwise you'll exacerbate the problem.
If your brakes are still juddery after re-bedding, then they're probably actually warped, but experience shows me that more than 50% of "warps" are actually pad deposit problems and are thus eminently curable
