Anyone got their widget working with Vista? Do you need (is there??) an updated virtual com port driver? As far as I can tell there is no Vista specific driver on the FTDI website I have the FTDI driver for Win XP and will give installing that a go in the absence of any other suggestions

According to the FTDI website, the latest VCP drivers (version 2.02.04) are suitable for Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista and the 64 bit variants.

Ah, a moment of enlightenment!
Looking at their website, I now see what they were trying to do - just the design with the small grey bars is a little poor.....I just read it as 'Windows Vista - Microsoft WHQL certified' but no driver to download....
It was late last night and I was feeling tired - cheers k9huff!

FTDI software works fine, however Vista doesnt come with Hyperterminal It is free over the net however But by this point I'd run out of time - I will try again tonight....
