Just got back from an excellent day at Perfect touch, having a live map done.

I am very pleased with the results (and Rob seemed pleased too)
313bhp At the fly (283 atw) Max torque 279.6 at 5,200. \:\/

It absolutely eats the road now, and the spool up is excellent. It is much easier to drive than with a standard turbo IMHO, as there is less lag before it all piles in.
I can't thank Rob enough, and Rog at Powerfiat for all their hard work.

In total my engine mods are
GT28R, Pro-Alloy FMIC & SIP, Blitz Id-111 EBC, Forge dv006 and 3" H&S downpipe. \:#

Here's the graph.

I think the X axis of the graph is wrong - power and torque should cross at 5.250 rpm, but on the graph they're crossing 500rpm too late

my guess is that the two plots should be moved 500rpm to the left

That confused me before Nigel, the power and torque are on different scales.

great result ben.

what fuel were you running on the day? do you know if rob ran lots of ignition advance (this would be determined by the fuel type used)?

Hi Rog.

I used Shell V-Power.
Rob said it took far more Ignition advance than he would have expected, but he backed it off to where he would have expected it to be for safety, just in case I got an extra fresh batch of fuel.

I don't know any figures....as you know I'm not very technical. ;\)

no thats fine, it seems rob is now becoming more safety conscious which is a good thing.

Anyhow, leave it as it is now, and enjoy.

WHat would the results be if ROb had mapped on 95 ron and not 97 or V-Power! Just wondering if it is safer to map to 95 just in case you can't get 97!

I think some people tend to carry a little bottle of octane boost(or whatever it's called) in case 97+ Ron isn't available in case of emergency.

I'm not sure if it will work the same or not though. \:\?

Simple if there is no 97 around put only a small amount of 95 in until you find 97 and dont boost it.

Well lucky for me i live near a 24 hour shell (less than 2 miles away) and there is about 5-6 on my normal routes. \:D

But yes drop in 95 to get you to another shell.

Nice results there. If you can't get any V-power, e.g only BP at service stations then just run a bar of boost - I've done this on several occassions and not had any issues when giving it some beans. It's only when you really push the car on your top setting I'd worry - not cruising about.

Morning people,

I may stand corrected here but i think Bens car is the most power i have had from a catted car. I had to ask ben if he was running any octane boosters as it took a lot more advance than most of the other cars i have done
As a safety precaution the ignition was backed off which did not alter the power. This is because the car reached MBT which is almost unheard of on a stock engine running 1.4bar.
Also Interesting on Bens car is that the boost controller needed very less gain to hold the boost higher up which would suggest low back pressure and matches the power produced. All in all a very good package from Roger at power fiat as it came to us.
Once again a great car and thanks for coming over.

Just on a side note, as posted the graph will only cross at 5250rpm if the scale if the same for torque and opwer.

Whats MBT?

Also why didnt you run 1.5 bar? \:D

If it had been de-catted would he have hit 330?

MBT is the point where further ignition advance makes no difference or even starts to loose power.

Would there be much difference being mapped on 95 ?
What would happen using 97 in a car mapped to 95 ?

Your car is mapped to 95 just now. So the answer is it would be safer.
