How easy / difficult is it to install one of these in a 20vt + more importantly set it up safely so I don’t end up going backwards!!!!! Do they just take the place of the standard valve and how are they adjusted? \:\)

You can adjust the standard vavle so you shouldn't need to add another one in there.

Mine is just the std one adjusted. It is an adjustable unit anyway.

You need to replace the lines, and join them together, but you can use a dual circuit valve adjuster, with 2 lines, chances are the lines will have to come inside. I used braided lines from the cylinder to the rear, but I hear that is not MOT allowed, many of the other competitors have copper hard lines inside to rear, a cheaper way, but you'll need a flare tool to put the fittings on. As most owners cars are lowered the brake bias will already be more rear-ward as the std valve will think the car is laden at the rear. In the dry you'll want virtually no rear bias, in the wet its the opposite. Tilton valves are pressure sensitive so alter the bias depending on pressure - sounds fancy but pretty sure its just std hydraulic principles with rate of change of pressure.

If I try the kit I now have without the bias valve will I have problems? Obviously I want to avoid going out for a test and spinning the car on the brakes.....

Check it's legality. Unless you run an elaborate twin circuit adjuster you will have to alter the diagonal split system into a front/rear split. Add the adjuster into the rear circuit. Since the factory one is adjustable its a bit over the top for a street car.
