Hi All, I felt my car was feeling a little sluggish recently (one of things where you are sure if its just in your head or not). So i decided to fit a boost gauge on the weekend to make sure there was not boost problems. All seems ok so i also got round to fitting a gtec chip and PRV i have had lying around for a while. Def faster - but still not quite the kick i was expecting. Never the less i have decided to get the fuelling checked. I remember someone on here mention a rolling road in chesterfield. http://www.noblemotorsport.co.uk/This is not far from me so i rang and booked in for next Monday. I assumed a power run and fuelling check would be approx £60. When i emailed them with what i was after and how much it would cost i got the following response: We would normally advise a full rolling road set up. We would during the set up go through and check, set , adjust as necc. We would then at the end present you with a power and torque printout. The cost of a full set up is £145.00 Inc vat.what exactly would they check, adjust and setup.... If anyone knows of an alternative rolling road in the midlands that they recommend (with better prices) please do tell :-) any advice much appreciated Thanks Dan

Ok mike when i have sorted out what date etc i will send you a pm, There might be a couple of us coupes going Dan, you will get a power/torque graph which shows you the boost level and fueling (the fueling is marked by lambda not afr) Make sure above 3k its between 7.5-8.5 and starts to go lower at higher revs. When you have been and got the graph post it up and we can have a look. I did ask what exactly they would adjust on the £145 run, but they didnt respond to that question....
I do wounder quite what extra you would get for their £145 run... Possibly just a sales pitch???
Anyway will go to noblemotorsport on monday and see how it goes.
That does sound a bit iffy to me. Do you really want to go somewhere that was fully prepared to charge you double your new price? Also, I'd want to be able to physically see the car being tested. Deffo wouldn't want it to be done "behind closed doors" as it were. Each to their own though I suppose.

I was also very dissapointed with Nobles I had a full set up
Had to wait about 4 hour when they probably spent half hour on it I heard the car on the rollers 3 times but never seen anything.
I was given my print out and that was it I never got the chance to ask any questions as they seemed to busy.Nothing was explained to me and I specifically stated the main thing I was interested in was the AFR.
I will never go back to Nobles.

For me it's a no-brainer - cancel and get yourself to PowerStation.

Yep Powerstation are very friendly, let you watch your car & are happy to discuss the results afterwards. They also have an AFR gauge which they watch all the way through the run(s) and will back-off if any fuelling issues are spotted.
As previously mentioned - a no-brainer
