After reading though a few search results i`m starting to think a wee Superspool turbo would go quite nicely with my Coop but I would just like a couple of answers to some questions to help me make my mind up . 1) Is the Superspool just a straight swap for the standard turbo? 2) Can a Superspool be made up from a old standard unit, seeing as I have one sitting thats in not to bad nick ? 3) I have a chargecooler sitting waiting for me to fit and I see that Jimbo runs his Superspool with a CC + Pace SMIC. I take it i`ll be fine running it with the standard SMIC + CC (i`ll probably end up getting a Pace SMIC eventually )? Baz

Baz as you know I know he-haw about turbos but thought Id give it ago. 1. Sure its a straight swap. 2 Sure you have to buy a new one, quite expensive. 3. Sure you would be fine with these cooling mods. 4. I know for SURE someone creditable should answer these questions. What about this guy

i am keeping an eye on that thread as well spoke to myles the guy that is making the kits up and he said he would be able to produce a fast spooling turbo for those not looking for big power, got a price for a superspool from barbz and it was just over 1k, he said he could get a ball bearing version of the superspool but that would be a couple of hundred more so looks like that the kits that are going to be produced should be good value

I have a superspool on my car (fitted by previous owner) which was built to Barbz spec by turbo dynamics ... i seem to remember the price on the invoice being around the £450 area...? I do like it though, it's noticably quicker than a standard spool up, and pulls very progressively throughout the rev range. Looking forward to getting it mapped once I've sorted a few other bits n' bobs.

I've bought à 60 TRIM compressor wheel + spécial housing for my T28. So my hybrid will have the same spec than this MD238 Am i right?

Same here. I've not been in a standard coop recently to be able to compare. My car is only lightly modified (supersprint exhast system and k&n cone)and runs a standard ecu at the moment. I'd say it still comes on boost quicker, slightly harder, and pulls more consistantly to the red line. Sorry I can't be of more help! Jimbo has a superspool and tells me that with a couple mods and a map it makes for awesome drive-ability, if you're not just gunning for out and out 1/4 mile performance. Tom
