Ive two 20VT wheels sat about from my old coupe and im not sure what to do with them.

Any Ideas?

My initial thoughts were to put a piece of glass across them making a pininfarina coffee table. Obviously after removing the tyres and giving them a refurb.

i weighed in 5 old wheels the other day, and a dented evo bonnet (alloy also)

got £30.20

hardly worth it really, but better than sitting in the garage for eternity

The reason why their not in the for sale section.

Their pininfarina design so must be able to do something around the house with them without looking too tacky.

Think id like a pininfarina center cap for them though.

If you put glass on to make coffee table the glass would rest on the spokes not the rim I think

Im sure I could come up with a solution, maybe putting something in the center caps to stand the glass on.

However I think now it might look a bit tacky.

Maybe a better use for them would be to pick up a couple more and get some track tyres on them.

Can't you use two, on opposite corners, and balance carefully? laugh

Would they fit on a Robin Reliant? The 3rd wheel doesn't matter, as that's hidden... smile

Handy Link - just in case.

wink

A mate did this with M3 wheels, got a similar size for the lower rim, had the hum painted black and had his M3 wheels on the top - looked quite good except for a crappy wheel design!

I have one of michael schumachers old F1 wheels sat in my living room (Benneton 91 season) with glass on as a coffee table, always think wheels make a nice blokey change from something you pick up on a mundane trip to Ikea.

I agree though, you would have to work out how to raise the lip or something as the spokes mean it would not sit flat. Perhaps a base with four poles coming up that the table top could rest on.

Could always bolt it to the side of the house or on a post and store the garden hose on it.

Why would it not lay flat? Either the spokes are below the rim, in which case, no problem, or there is a highest point on each spoke. That highest point will be equidistant from the centre and equally distributed in a circle.

The only problem that you have would be if the high point is too close to the centre so that putting things on one side of the table causes it to tip; so three or four small rubber/plastic supports on the wheel rim would be ideal.

Sorted. laugh

That sounds great, how did you manage to get it though?
