Resto projects always sound great to begin with...

It's stuck in my garage at the moment- i'm half way through putting the engine & box back in after the rebuild.

Started out as a rolling resto, but soon developed into a total restoration.

Goes like stink though (for a classic)- you really feel the speed they can pull in them- it's 36 years old & has poppodum brake discs, but it'll still pull over 120mph (on a runway-obviously!)

Long way of completion at the mo!

Up for a local meet & drive if anyone is interested, I posted up some interest in the Social section, maybe & drive over to Torpoint & on the Mt. Edgecombe for a pint???

Anyway, spotted a lovely Met. Blue 20v Turbo (could have been a plus) in Heybrook Bay this morning. Anyone on here?

Cool,

next weekend- (W/C 24/11) Can't do Saturday though- working. Sunday could be a goer...

Plymouth to Salcombe is a nice road, with some decent pubs enroute!

Or a trip over the border to Cornwall?

Noooooooo. This car was for sale (was on piston heads and the bay IIRC), but the owner at the time was a PR!CK. Drove like a w@nker in built up area's, windows open with music blaring out. He used to work just up the road from my house, so people thought it was me being a knob. That said - might be a new owner now. But that car did nowt for our reputation!!

Any chance we can do the meet in the spring? Mine is all tucked up for winter now!!

Don't know about the guy in person but I have bumped into him at the filling station a few times. Not spoken to him about his car though.

On a separate issue, I was doing the speed limit on the way home \:D & my O/S/F wheel arch cover decided to wrap itself around the wheel at speed.
Quite scary to begin with as it sounded quite horrific & I thought I had a blow out!

The wife was giving it beans 'n all, as you can imagine as we missed 45mins XFactor (everyones a winner!)

So does anyone have a spare plastic wheel arch cover they could donate for some beer tokens?

Bit peevedat the mo as it's left the oil cooler slightly exposed to stone chips.

Can anyone help? Cheers, Ben.

scared the hell out of me too, it's made a right mess- black burnt plastic everywhere & has bent back the lip on the smaller wing under the bonnet.
Looks like most of it will wash off, and the rest with a little gentle persuasion.

I just had the cambelt done so i'm wondering if it was not put back on properly or it was the wind that tore it off.

Hey ho, hopefull have that sorted now with a breaker in the hagling section.

This site is ace for looking after your Coupe on the cheap!
