Well, bit of an update to keep some scottish member happy After realising i had stripped the threads on the new oil cooler, i had to order up a new oil cooler and got think auto to make some new oil cooler pipes up for not that much money to replace the old items. Went through some of the diagnostic settings to check that the fuel pumps are doing what they should be doing, checking the injectors fire as well as making sure i put the connector on the right injectors so that they fire in the correct sequence. Checked the ignition and had to do some jiggery pokery after a quick call to sedicirich and now got the sparks firing in the right order too, so final thing was to try and start it!! Well that didn't happen as was getting a message on the motec saying the sync was not good, so would not start the car. Tried a few things to check the sensor and another call to sedicirich and not much joy. Rich had spoken to the mapper of his 200bhp+ N/A Tipo and suggested i gave him a call as i will be going to him for my mapping. I have spoken with Phil Lanes of GG Motorsport and he suggested changing the trigger wheel settings i had, as the ones i had from an integrale might not be correct, so Phil suggested a couple of changes which i did, uploaded this to the motec and the sync error has gone, but still wont start, just lots of popping and banging. Phil has a copy of my map and is going to make some changes with the info i've given him / linked to the fiat workshop manual, so fingers crossed, Phil is going to work some magic and i'll have a running coupe after 3 years and 2 1/2 months!!

Flea, there is a base map on there, but no trundling around will be done, the engine will be run in on the rolling road, as the car still needs tax, mot and insurance first! She does sound ok, a lot of carbon is being chucked out but that is probably down to the fact of having 750cc injectors and no downpipe or external wastegate being on, I will try and sort a video out soon, but first i need a new FMIC as the trolley jack rolled to the side, and the FMIC is all mashed up, highs and lows today

I can't believe it!
I bet the sync error was the degrees position of the sync point was wrong in the map - I can get the same error on mine. On my Motec setup the engine rotates past the main trigger wheel and the sync from the phase sensor and checks they are in the right place and does one full cycle before it will fire up. I believe that the 20VT stock ECU works it out dynamically and after it has seen crank position and phase position it will fire, so usually less than one full cycle.

Sounds like you are running antilag :-) I would not run that till your mapper has it on the rollers or you could end up burning something ;-) Looking forward to seeing it in action. Paul

Good one. Incidentally begbie and wiring dont go together, I think I'll buy you an electronics set for xmas!! Also trying to explain the relationship between the crank and the cam while dring up the M6 is a little difficult. Good old Phil at G and G dont know of many professionals who will answer the phone 8 at night to talk about starting a car!! Anyway get all oil and water unions checked, make sure anything that looks lose or rattles like brackets etc are all stbilized, check all engine mounts, and the hub nuts for torque so its good for the RR. I hope you have some monkey oil in it for running in, mine was ran in on tesco value oil! - dry cold compression test after 5 races - 190psi+ on all cylinders. If you put synth in - get it out. Make sure you have your front tomwing eye so I can winch it on the trailer after xmas. We never thought the day would come! rich
