I'm doing my cambelt on the weekend so I'm removing my rocker cover. I'm vapor basting mine, it's basically high pressure water jet with really fine course beads. Should leave a factory finish look

Been looking at bead blasting as this should restore to factory finish. Where are you getting yours vapor blasted?

cheap limescale remover.
did my rear calipers and they looked like new after.

I've got access to various bead and vapor blasters at work, fairly handy really.
would have thought it's fairly cheap to get done.

Bead blasted my rocker cover yesterday. It turned out very good and nice and clean. I put it in the dishwasher last night to give it a final degrease and it's slightly taken the bright aluminum shine away.

Anyway thought i'd post a pic for you to see the finish

Whats the next plan? Polishing it up, colour coded or left as it is?

Just fitting it as is today, just want to get car back together for MOT. Probably paint the cover in the summer wink

I've nearly finished mine, soaked it in limescale remover, it went dark but rubbed off with agitation! Then have attacked it with autosol and wire-wool (twice), it's almost there! smile My second rocker cover will just get sprayed with high temperature silver paint! I'll post photos later, Mr C
