I know it's hardly the first time it's been mentioned but always think it's worth sharing the experience.

Was booked in to Poweritalia agin this morning for a full service. Provided my own oil from Opieoils, not only not a problem but happily encouraged by Rog. Only garage I know where not only does the mechanic know what he's talking about, but has such a specific understanding of the car. Other person working on the car was Akeme, so again no spanner monkeys or "fitters" working on my pride and joy.

Best thing is that I can see what they're doing discuss it with them, and learn more about my car. I know far more things to look out for in general and also specifically relating to my car. Far nicer to hear, "Will have a look at this brake disc, you see the way it now has a wear ridge, I'd say you have maybe 3k, 5k max left on it"; rather than someone tell you they've either already changed and binned the existing discs or that they need changing and they only have one set left in stock bettter do it today blah blah blah....

Also good to get practical advice on people they recommend for spares, new parts etc rather than try to make more off you...

And for anyone thinking I'm just giving him a plug, I didn't know Rog before going there (on forum advice), he's not an old mate etc... I just consider him a bloody good (and reasonable) mechanic...

I agree - I got a full service done there when I bought my Coupe and it was given a full going over and they obviously knew everything there is to know about coupes.
They even arranged for a guy to come and re-gas my air con while I waited.
Must bring it over to them again for a few more tweaks that I have been putting on the long finger.

I have only met Rog twice but he is really good with the car...always feels 100% better after him and Akeme have worked on it!

fully agree with your comments mate, had my coop serviced and new cam belt done by rog and the team, and was very impressed with the service and more importantly the knowledge, and friendliness of the staff.
no bull shit, just an honest and open opinion on all things coop.
makes a very refreshing change rather than the usual garage telling you that 99% of your car needs replacing!
all in all money well spent and you drive away knowing that skilled hands have been on your pride and joy not some spotty teenager fresh from school.
if only they did bodyshop and paint...!
