just fitted some black diamond grooved disc to front and used ebc ultimax pads , got a set for rear as well ,but not fitted them yet . took it out for a spin , to start to bed them in . not impressed , what should i be doing to get them to stop . had pagid red dots in before and cross drilled grooved dics , and braking was ten times better . scared to go to work in morning , in case i can,t stop got terrible fade when hot .

Pagid and Red Dot are two different makes My recommendation - get the EBCs out straight away - I've never rated them in cars (although they are fairly well respected on two wheels) There's a Group Buy for Pagid - check out the Group Buy section

origionally had the pagid discs that AA sold and red dot pads . was very happy with these . then started to get warped disc feeling . took disc off found pad wear uneven and a rust ridge on inside of disc , had them on three years so i thought they would be ready for changing . ordered the black diamond grooved discs , and foolishly listened to a mate who said ," use normal pads that way youll get two sets of pads out of discs " the ebc pads have a brake in coating on them . a red coating on top of pad . supposedly to help clean disc first followed their bedding in proceedure , but once they get hot they don,t stop . ive ordered the black diamond predetor pads , to go with there discs . waiting for them to come , look like fitting them at weekend just wondering now whats the best combo disc / pads or are some just incompatible ?

got some predetor pads today going to fit them tonight , while sun lasts . let you know how they feel . always bedded pads in before using 50 to 30 method about 5 times , never used any with this bed in coating on before . ultimax pads are for oem replacment/ equivalent , just don,t think they can cope with any heat in them .

black daimond own pads , to match discs , same spec as red dots . just fitted them and been for a spin , need more time to bed them in and to test them properly . seem better trying not to go too mad on them at mo . the ebc ones i took out had worn all the bed in coating off them . discs are starting to shine up . ill see what happens with them next , and give some feedback next week

quick update on the predetor pads fronts now seem ok , deffo no fade when hot !! although they don,t seem to be a great as the red dots were , but in wet conditions seem to work better . i think for a medium cost brake pad they work ok . £75 for fronts and £ 35 for rears black diamond discs were £132 front pair and £ £65 pair rear . going to fit rear discs and pads next weekend and clean up bias valve .
