I have Bilstein Shocks and Ebach springs and I drive mine daily and have done for 2 years nearly. The mods were on the car before i got it so I cant compare it to a standard coop as i've never driven one but it's not too bad. You certainly gain a new appreciation for well finished roads and hate all speed bumps but if you're slow over them then its not a problem. You get used to it and its not really a problem. You get loud banging on the smallest of cracks which might get annoying for you. If you were closer I'd take you out in mine so you can judge for yourself. I could try a video so you can see/hear what its like? Now if you'll excuse me I'm due at the hospital to gethe these compression fractures looked at.

Really depends on your road conditions. If you have pot holes you'll hate how crashy the ride can get.

I changed my standard shocks and springs for this combo a couple of years so have experienced the before and after. It certainly is a lot nicer round corners but with the downsides that Alistair mentioned above. Mine is a daily runner too. However saying all that I'm soon to swap my Eibachs back to standard because I've moved house and the lowered springs mean that I can't get on my drive without some wierd 5 point manoevure to avoid taking my front end off. Note ground clearance!
Up yours Photobucket.

The ground clearance can indeed be awkward on occasion. Must say the car looks great for being that bit lower over standard.

Bilstein and Eibach's are a great compromise for a road coupe - I dont think that they are harsh at all!

I've just fitted this to mine, it handles well and its a lovely ride. At the same time I fitted a lower brace, new top mounts, arms etc Lovely and balanced now

FWIW I've now got my coop back to standard springs (but kept my Bilsteins) so I've just done the exact opposite of what you are about to. My first impression is that the bumps are a bit less crashy but it isn't as flat through bends. So reverse that and yours will be flatter through bends but a bit more crashy over bumps. HTH! I'm now happy that I've managed to get my car on the drive in one manoevure for the first time and could get on forwards so I didn't have to climb over the passenger seat to get in or out.
Up yours Photobucket.

Mine has both (and some other handling mods!) and is my daily runner - I find it absolutly fine, but most of my driving is on good A roads or the motorway
It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living

My coupe seems very crashy on potholes, and its very stiff. And i have standard springs on it. and i presume standard shocks? Could my shocks not be standard ones, or is a standard coupe still crashy? i have to aim the coupe around potholes! any pics of a standard shock so i can compare? or is it just the 17s making it crashy do you think?

the 17's wont help you - but as standard a coupe is not exactly a floaty cruiser....

From my experience with lowering springs and billies (on my old 16vt), there were many occasions where i could actually go faster on the standard setup simply becuase travelling over bumpy roads in the lowered setup made the car difficult to drive.
With the standard setup you would barely notice the bumps and would therefore have more confidence on the road. Then with the lowered setup you'd spend so much time crashing over bumps (or tryigng to avoid them) that you just couldnt put your foot down.
It kind of reminded me of when they put that F1 car on the autobahn, it simply couldn't go at top speed because it was bouncing all over the place.

Truffle, for this very reason I have decided to put my car back to standard suspension because the roads are so so bad around where I live that I cannot have any confidence in the cars' behaviour as a daily drive as my front end is always bopping over the rough roads. And trying to avoid all the pot holes is a nightmare. Across country roads I can travel quicker point to point in my 99 punto 60 than in my coupe because the ride is so much softer. My lowering spring will be available soon

For a start coupes handle better at a standard ride height anyway.
Lowering springs are a bodge job - you need better damping to cope with bumpy roads.
