Thanks very much, its half carpeted now so looks much neater again.

I've only been able to upload pics that I've found in my PhotoBucket account, the rest will be up when I get home.

I was very lucky, a lot of the hard work had been done when I bought the car. - one of the hardest and most expensive one being finding/importing a decent donor vehicle.

Unfortunately Delta Integrale running gear wont fit so you need to find a Dedra or 155 Q4, only the Q4 was imported to the UK and I should imagine only the good ones are left.

yup - 8 valve Originally from a Dedra. The Coupe was bought as a 16v NA with a blown engine so the Dedra lump was used.

Looked into both the 16vt and 8vt engines when the head gasket went and decided that sticking with an 8v was a better bet.

Its been on (mostly off) the road for over a year now, it is still in its very early stages and needs a lot of sorting but I think it's going to be great. Feels very planted, and is incredible from a standing start.

Next thing is to get the suspension and brakes sorted (thanks to Begbie) and try to shed some of the extra weight the car has put on.

How is yours coming on?

And the 4wd works perfect, no strange noise :-), no i mean when you drive normaly you can't hear/feel/see that the car have 4wd

Can't wait to see it finished! I've still got to work on that handbrake setup you showed me, mine got through the MOT but is still awful!

The extra grip from the 4wd the main thing you notice, especially in the wet.

The extra weight/transmission loss isn't really an issue especially if you're going to be sorting the engine out wink

Cool how did you pas MOT, do they not look that the car have been "rebuild" with 4wd ??

I cannot feel the diffrence in thw weight gain, and i would try to make some 0-60 time with my gtech next week.

It got through the MOT pretty easily, just had to sort the handbrake out (Seems to be a common problem with most Coupes)

Is indeed compatible with the 16vt lump. Too low? You should have see it with the coilovers wound down wink my old daily hack was low, the coupe is sensible - tractoresque if anything.
there is no such thing as 'too low' wink

How's the project going James? Any development over the last couple of months?

Hi Owain,

How are things? Got rid of the S3 yet? wink Getting any riding done?

The car has be sat at my parents place for the last few weeks, the weather, electrical problems and being silly busy has prevented much progress recently.

Going to crack on with it at the weekend though see if I can get it running.

Cheers
James

Cheers mate, that's a very kind offer.

Ideally I want to get the car up to a mates farm so I can work on it up there, but to do that I either need to get it taxed & Motd or see if it'll fit on our trailer (probably too low & wide)

Once it's up there and I've stocked up on the parts needed I'll take you up on that offer!

Dropping off some B pillars to be filled and powder coated tonight and also picking up a solenoid for the AVCR so I can crack on with that.

Cheers mate, did have a bit of a bodge job on a 20vt grill fitted for a while but it looked really tatty. Picked up a tatty Zender grill that I refurbed and new badge to finish it off.

Yeah, really regret it. Every time I see a nice straight low Caddy I miss mine. Got my eye on one I've seen sat on a drive with 4 flat tyres though...

Had a look at your update yesterday, very impressive. Can't believe how much work you've done!

Hows the Dedra?

Seems to be making a bit of progress since I last checked in. Looking forward to seeing this completed, I'm sure not as much as you are though smile

Still got the S3, I'm away with work at the moment but seriously thinking of getting rid of it when I'm back. I just hope it doesn't seem too good after driving around in basic, auto, 2010, Impreza saloon for 2 months.

No riding for a LONG time, will be working in the lakes for a few days when I'm back next month so I'll try and take the bike up with me.

What about you, any riding or is the project taking up too much time?

I'm not sure the word 'completed' will ever be used in conjunction with this project wink but it is moving along slowly. Swapped on a spare turbo last week to see if I could get it running smoke free. Its firing on all of 2 cylinders at the mo so come payday I'll be chucking on some new plugs, fuel filter etc to see if I can get it going.

I keep looking to change my daily, thinking maybe an estate but my truck just keeps going and costing my next to nothing to run. Sure the S3 will be a welcome change when you're back.

Going to try get back into racing this season, just the 2 main problems of talent and fitness getting in the way! Saying that, managed a 17th in my 1st race in 6 years so not all bad. Even got a road bike, £20 Raleigh thats waaay older than I am.

A combination of things, initial problem was a grotty earth between chassis and gearbox, the plugs had also seen better days. I swapped a whole load of bits over from a box of spares and in the end cured it.

Did you run a t34 at some point? I'm trying to research into them at the mo.
