i'll be up for it. just bought my first coupe, a 20v turbo. i only live 20 miles from carlisle and its usually my weekend haunt. good to see north england ACTUALLY being north england LMAO. will be good to see some fellow enthusiasts and gain a bit more knowlege about the car.

Jeff, the A689 through slaggyford makes it a fair bit shorter and is as good a road as the Hexam to alston route?

There were some cracking dry days last year around the same time so hopefully we'll be spoilt for choice

the portofino is heading to the garage again tomorrow to have the brake pipes done. going by the look on the mechanics face last week, im not looking forward to the bill lmao. today i noticed the brake compensator is unoperational aswell.
binding front brake problem solved by means of grinding the sides of the pads backing plate.

crossing my fingers that the guys who run the garage will pass it with the supposed "brake inefficiency". the front brakes are awesome at any speed and the handbrake holds perfect on my steep hill at home.

I confirm we will be there.

There is an IBIS hotel 100yds round the corner with secure parking and cctv covering the car park or The County Hotel, even closer, but maybe not as nice or modern as the IBIS.

There is also the Hallmark Hotel, right next to the railway station and about 100yds opposite so plenty of hotels within easy staggering distance of the restaurant

Am I allowed to come if I dont own a coop?

Not bothered how tatty or unmodern the places are, as long as the car is safe and I've got somewhere to throw my stuff in and get some sleep
